Cat Advice?

I currently have a 25" DF knock off and I would like something bigger and of course faster!

I like how the DF handles- like on rails. I would like the same qualities in a fast cat.

I dont want to build the boat- I want at minimum hardware installed and stuffing tube done. I can mount the servo and motor mount.

The size of the Genesis caught my eye, but when mentioned I did notice for the added length it isnt much wider than the Apparition.

Compared to the Mean Machine, you are talking the difference between a Kia and a Lexus here. BG

If your on a tight budget I would say Mean machine or BBY Scat Cat.

yeh I have a electric layup mean machine... its the original Fine Design website "mock up" boat.... bought it for $1295 was young and dumb, in FE anyway...(had a nemesis and a hydra 120 and it came with two 2s 20c 3700 firefox/poly rc lipos..lol... and a FM Hitec Agressor radio..he he...l) bought it direct from Fine Design... and yeh I even got my boat...lol... boy did I get robbed on the price though (still a very nice quaility build even though I hate giving chris fine credit )...lol.... anyway it is a fantastic fast and great handling boat.... I don't think there is another cat out there that holds a candle to its design in its size range for overall performance.... after all these years its still at the front of the pack... as far as I am concerned.... I love my MM....

Better in what sense? It all depends on how you want to run, or if you want to build.

I just was not a fan of the Genesis, I didn't like how it ran in the turns. The narrowness of the hull was a issue for me. I would take my skunk gen 1 over the genesis I had anyday of the week. I can stay on the throttle for the whole run and it handleson rail. JMO

The genesis is a scale cat. It really isn't intended for wot turns. The mean Machine is. The Genesis will take more straight line speed though. As for Lexus vs. Kia, that is not a great comparison. Both hulls are very well built. How about a top fuel dragster vs. A F1 car.

Easiest 2 cats I have built with very little trimming and run great...for the money....I should add, is the MM and the HOR cat.

If I were to choose one...HOR cat is best bang for the buck. Many would cringe on that comment but after buiding so many and just hanging hardware on them and lighting them up I have to say the HOR was a great running cat. Many motors can get it in the 60s with ease. She handles well unless you plan to race it...then corning is a bit touchy.

Line it with CF and build it up with a single or twin. Twins are worth the work.

Still seeing how I can twin my Geico but little room for the stingers.

Or you can spend the big bucks but I do not see it doing much for the $ difference.

I was looking on Aeromarines site and they have one w/hardware for $90. Plus Ive had an offer on one- so I was kinda leaning the mean machine way.

Truth be told I like the looks of the HOR one better. I think the hatch and rear deck area on the MM looks just ugly. But Im not in this for looks.

I agree that a Mean Machine is right for you. (29")

But later, when you want to step it up I recomend a Conquest Pro.(44")
Handles great, is larger and faster.
Mine handles the rougher water as well.
