    Cat Advice?

I want to get a Cat for Christmas and I need help deciding which one I should get.

I want something thats gonna fly- but bang for the buck. I really want something at minimum with hardware on it since Im not capable of doing this yet.

For that reason Ive been thinking of the surge crusher for some time. But being Christmas and all I can do better...

So Ive been thinking Apparition- maybe the dual drive even... Possibly the Genesis?

Is there other options that maybe better?

For a solid composite cat that will be user friendly, really strong and great performing I'd go with a Toysport Jolly Cat http://translate.google.com/translat...oys-port.hu%2F

You'll need to order it soon to have it by Christmas.
Their edges and gelcoat are nearly flawless from the factory.

His designs are stable, and even being in Hungary their customer service is Great!

One of our members has a Mean Machine on Ebay now at $ 250. It is RTR, NO SETUP REQUIRED. You could easily flip the SV 27 motor and esc. Your Leopard would give the MM wings. Nice handling boat, worth thinking about. BG

            The Geico looks nice.

Not sure on the mean machine. I have never ran a cat before. So I dont know what to look for.

I just got a desire to put something on the water fast in the spring time!

            Im really digging the Genesis!

Long and narrow cats do not turn very well at higher speeds

The mean machine is wider for how long it is and turns great a speed (I have one)

Just depends what you want to do Drag race or laps

The MM is a MUCH BETTER cat than the Genesis. I had a Genesis for about a month and sold it. The MG is also better.

If you want to get on the water quickly, and have something that will handle well and be fast... I'd get myself a Miss Geico, pick up a Castle 1515 1Y or 1518 1.5 (1800KV) and a Hydra 120 or 240 ESC, and a couple of 4S packs...

Mod the rudder like many of us have shown here, put in the motor and ESC, plug it all in, and hang on!

HMMMMMM, I have that motor laying around. I may have to try seeing I don't have a home for that motor yet. I'm still rocking the stock rudder setup. With my batts moved back it calmed the boat down. The PB1800kv motor gained me 4mph and ran fine. I like the all PB setup I have kicking now and the 45amp BJ esc is working with that 1800kv no problem so far. I think I will keep the rudder stock for a while. For some reason I just don't want to stray to far from the stock setup. If i get the need to change I will do the rudder mod and slap the cc1518 in.

You can throw in the motor swap without changing the rudder, you know...

Better in what sense? It all depends on how you want to run, or if you want to build.

I currently have a 25" DF knock off and I would like something bigger and of course faster!

I like how the DF handles- like on rails. I would like the same qualities in a fast cat.

I dont want to build the boat- I want at minimum hardware installed and stuffing tube done. I can mount the servo and motor mount.

The size of the Genesis caught my eye, but when mentioned I did notice for the added length it isnt much wider than the Apparition.
