Ooooh Copper, me likey! Good to hear! I was wondering when someone would start manufacturing the ESCs with Copper cooling plates.

Now hopefully all the FETs will be in contact with the cooling plates.

      Well, I couldn't talk them into sanding, leveling and greasing, but at least they are using copper. They are stuck on using heat pads too. Here's the big mac;

      Copper / Heat Pad
      ---------
      FET circuit card
      ---------
Heat Pad / Copper / Heat Pad
      ---------
      FET circuit card
      ---------
Heat Pad / Copper / Heat Pad
      ---------
      FET / Controller circuit card

The first models will not have tubing attached from the factory. The distance between the two copper plates is enough to insert a ~5/32 copper tube and either solder or thermal epoxy in place.

It's a compromise, but they are not equipped to make changes to their products and are severely under staffed until February. We're very fortunate to have the opportunity to ask for these changes.

I'm hoping to finish testing and get them to make a resin cast water cooled, waterproof version early next year. Preliminary results are good, but I need to get some eagle tree data to support.

Me thinks they are using the thermal heat pad because they can't control the accuracy of the the placement of the FETs on the boards. The flexability of the heat pad could better match the uneveness of the FETs. Those pick and place surface mount machines are expensive.

This is definitely a better setup than any of the other Chinese multiboard ESCs.

By the way, how were you able to get hooked up with the manufacturer?
It is cool that they are listening to the customer for their design mods.

OK, I placed an order for 20 of them with copper cooling plates. I don't know the price on them yet, but most likely about $45 give or take depending on the price of copper there.

I'll keep ya updated on the status as things progress.

The order has been placed for 20 of them. I will let you know as soon as I get confirmation of completion date.

Quoting myself for a second time. Heh.

OK, about 7 days till shipping, so about two weeks, I'll have 20 of them WITH COPPER PLATES.

They want me to order more since the copper plate isn't cheap, so I might pool up and offer pre-ordering... but not yet. I want to make sure they are ready and see photos first.

Now we can request these direct from Suppo, with proper cooling and factory waterproofed for marine applications.

                        FC,
What is the voltage rating on these Suppo ESCs, and are these BEC or non-BEC?
Thanks for working with Suppo on this design.

Don't thank me yet. They aren't done and we don't have a price yet.

OK, we can order them now. 20 piece minimum factory order, so I need to get at least 10 orders so I can place the factory order.

Basically it's this; when I get enough orders, I'll place the factory order. 1-3 weeks it will be delivered and I'll ship each ESC out the following business day.
