Yeah, I got lucky that I just got white smoke with a few brown traces on the hatch and the side of the hull. I think the heat shrink around the ESC contained some of the mess.
I half way knew it was going to smoke the HiModel 200A , it was way too hot of a setup, even for a SAW run. I still like the Hi Model for my normal setups as I have never had a problem with one under normal usage.

I am not sure if I would have kept the smoke in with any amount of cooling. I only ran it for about 30 seconds before it smoked. By the way, the fets were at 280F!

      Joe,
Thanks for posting the pics, I had a great time, as always, at your place! Your hospitality is second to none!

      FighterCat,
I will be interested to see how your cooling setup works on these ESCs.

How ticked would you have been if you spent a couple hundred for that speedo?

Did I mention, "It's a cheap disposible alternative to the more expensive ESC's."

I might be interested in a couple of these. Might just be a good replacement for the EKOS burn up. Oh yeah, the windsheild is all fixed up with carbon fiber. Should hold up to the next nose dive.

Is this Himodel or Suppo you're having these problems with?

Suppo ESC's in the swap shop. Get them while they last.

There is a possibility that Suppo will make a "marine" version of this ESC with water cooling on each layer.

                            We'll see...

Is this a picture from Suppo?

I like the idea of cooling each layer, I just wish they would use two cooling pipes per layer like Castle does, the cooling would be even more effective.

This was just a sample. The production version will have one copper sheet per layer and multiple cooling pipes. I'll post up once I have some photos.
