Hi guys, I'm the one I believe that he was typing to. His threads just got tossed over at RCU as you guys had better read the fine print before throwing this guy any money.
It appears that you have to pay ot join a "club" to get a discount. This ain't Sam's Club but looks to be more of a Pyramid scheme to me.
This dude wants you to go out and drum up business for him and hit all of the forum sites to get others in on the "deal" so those suckers are making threads to get more people in.
Do you really think that you're getting a bargain? A Radio Shack or Nikko boat would have more of a life on the water than this thing. Steve would be doing you all a big favor by deleting the whole thing.
Now I just want to sit back and watch the crying once just one person gets screwed over.

                    Hi Ron

Are you referring to the swarm thing by Hobbyking where there need to be 6 people who sign in to get the discount?

Anybody that knows me or knows of me also knows that I'm out to help watch everyone's rears and have learned over the years to know a scam when I see one.
If anyone in here has had an actual positive experience or even a bad one with this company I'd really like to know how it went.
                      Yes, Jerome, I am.
Find 5 buddies to go in with you on his "swarm" so that you all get the deal. Don't have 5 others? Hit the forum sites and find some then, this is how he operates.
There was one online hobby shop that also had a forum site. He would offer members of his site a big whoppin' 2 cents off a purchase to every person that they could get into his site and buy something. It then continued down the line as the new members wanted to get in on the deal also. The next thing that you know, they're all going hog wild on the forum sites and many were banned from those sites for site rule infractions just over a lousy 2 cent per customer discount that they brought in.

                        Thanks.

Sounds more like an aggressive marketing trick/tool than a scam...... Is what they are doing illegal?

I've ordered a Surge Crusher from Hobby King and lipo batteries, because of the price.

It's a bathtub toy but I've had no problems with HK per se, I just don't expect any warranty on the boat though, to ship it back would cost half the price of the boat.

To me it was a good introduction to FE.

And the bathtub toy (aka Surge "Flusher") was clocked at 37Mph, with stock setup, 4S 4000mah and a plastic prop.

You guys just lost your cash, but do not worry the boat was not worth it.

Lots of people are happy about their Turniguys Lipos, Typhoon motors, Hobbyking/Seaking/Hobbywing ESC and they swear by them....... Bought some a month ago but haven't used them yet.

This thread is getting very strange....... Hope it does not turn into a Hobbyking bashing......

Laddie, HK does not manufacture anything. If they wish to sell a dubious boat and a hacker gets on their site, so be it
