I don't think his batteries have enough cont amps for that motor. Unless he's running parallel on those. I'd imagine it's a lvc issue. If he is running parallel on those it is just at 88 amps using the 80% rule and if he hit a amp spike he's screwed. I think if he upgraded to batts with more mah his issue would go away.

I'm running parallel 4400 at 25c. What if receiver or antenna wires are to close to the motor, would there be some interference and cause throttle fluctuation?

I just read to keep all wires away 1/2 " from receiver , when i looked the wires were almost touching. I will never stop learning.

A pair of 4400 25c packs in parallel should easily be able to deliver over 200 amps if called upon. if you set-up is poor and things are binding, you could be overloading the ESC. Another possibility - if this is a used boat and the ESC was in it, you need to check the Low Voltage Cutout (LVC) setting. It might be set to 12 volts or so, in which case you will often be hitting the cut-out. The LVC is a safety feature to prevent over-discharge of your batteries but it needs to be set to suit how many cells you are running.

                    Chris

Try a different ESC if you can't find how to check the setting.
