    Tony,

Too bad they reduced the gauge of the wire to 10ga from the 8ga they advertised. I hope the RC Car/Truck/Airplane guys aren't influencing Turnigy to use the smaller gauge wires because they are too thick to install in their setups. With a theoretical burst output enough to start your car, I would think the bigger the gauge the better.

By the way, thanks for the empirical info on these batteries, it will definitely help justify the battery purchases I make, whether it will be to go cheap or spend the bucks to go high quality.

FWIW the G3's also have 10 AWG wires.

wow you got those nano techs fast! I'm tempted to buy some but I know my thunder powers will come in as soon as I do. Anxious to see how they run. Put my car in the shop today and my boats in the paint shop, as soon as they are done I'd like to drive up to the lake and meet up Tony. That is if you don't mind.

Kinda wierd that the HK web specs indicate :

              585 g
              L : 166 mm
              W: 37 mm
              H : 50 mm
              5.5 bullets
              8 AWG pictured

              Actual :

              571 g
              L : 150 mm
              W : 33 mm
              H : 47 mm
              4.5 connector
              10 AWG

              Same decal, 'tho !
That pisses me off....specs are specs...and you buy a battery that may not fit...how about the other power specs??

I here that Lipos will perform their best after about 5 cycles. So if the first cycle performs good the next few cycles should get better.

All the conversation about lipos needing several cycles before realizing their potential has me confused. I'm certainly not saying that is wrong but I have been using lipos since their inception and was one of the early importers of them. In fact, I have always read and been told that it is NOT a good idea to 'cycle' lipos. Nickel Metal Hydride batteries require several cycles to become 'seasoned' but I never heard that about lipos until now. Are you sure the two types of batteries/information isn't getting confused? I have never noticed any increase after several cycles on a lipo. They're usually good to go right out of the gate for me.

                            Just curious!

Well I'll tell you what, my old carbon micro hydro sure as heck got faster after the 3rd charge on my new Lipo's. It was embarrassingly slow before that and I thought something was wrong! 3rd charge and it was doing much better. That was the only boat I noticed this on though.

The only thing I do now is warm and balance my lipo's before each run and they seem to run cooler as well as have more punch. It's a very noticeable difference too.
