The sounds precisely like a leak in the cooling system. Either a split in a line, bad o'rings on the motor, etc.
It could sit foverever in the water and not take on any. And even stranger, the boat can be upside down in the water for like 10 minutes and not take on water. It's only when I drving fast it takes on about half a cup of water in like 5 min. This is a hydroplane so the hull is hardly in contact with the water.Mini Cat Racing USA

I always use denatured alcohol. Nothing else. It has been happening on all my boats. Just for grins I'm gonna go to wally world and get some of that clear (sort of) electrical tape in the automotive department.

Here's a thought. On the inside of your boat, temporarily glue or carefully tape partitions to section off the hull into about five sections. Run the boat briefly, maybe two minutes at the outside. Don't do any quick turns.
Bring it back and you'll find water in some (or only one) of the secrtions. That's where your water is coming from.

This topic isn't to debate which tape does or doesn't leave residue. I just wanted to know if 3m was the best at keeping out water. Now that I have found the problem I would appreciate some advice on how to fix it. When I say "pump air into" that's what I mean. I take a bike pump and I can pump 40psi into the hull before the hatch blows off. The only bubbles I see are from the corners of the hatch where the tape over laps. But water is still getting in from somewhere else. It's like there's a friggin one way valve in there! lol Water gets in, but air does come out!? And I can't pin point where the water is coming in.Comment

Doug its quite obvious that people can't understand your humour. I'm sure if we were face to face it would be different. But in text it doesn't work right.Steven Vaccaro

Heck why not just run the hull under pressure that should keep water out!Comment

Thanks everyone! I found the leak. When I built the boat the tub and rear sponsons were built seperately and glued together. There was a hair line crack on the bottom corner of the boat IN BETWEEN the tub and rear sponson! That's why I couldn't find it, it was hidden. The air must have been pressing the hair line crack against the rear sponson, sealing it. And why I take on water while running.Comment
