yes 4s is ok for that motor, your gonna wanna use packs of 30c or greater continous discharge and preferably 4000-5000mah. 6s will burn that motor up!!

Yes, its fine to run those packs, thats what i got my 53mph passes from but i was running some heavy 8000 packs, waste of money, 5000 packs are best for the bang, how big is your esc? Im running a 180 amp seaking

Really too small of motors for that large of hull. The 4074 or 4082s are the way to go. You need the torque and power which will run faster, more effic and cooler. Even a nice outrunner like the T600 would be much better and run 6S and a 45-52mm prop. Also much easier on the ESC.

The fastest Genesis upgrade is the Leopard 40mm 74 or 82 motor. Smaller props with higher RPM tend to work well on the cats. 642 is a good one for example.

I think somebody sells the 40 motor tail ring by itself too. Or can just get the whole 40mm mount for a few bucks.

Somebody told me that a 42mm tail ring will be available shortly to adapt the castle motors like 1518, 1520 and 1515 to the Genesis.
