Yes. Keep an eye on the esc though. I'd run a ubec, or rx pack and unhook thr red receiver wire from the esc.

It has a Seaking 120A programmable ESC

I should get the programming card in a couple of days.

You can easily program that esc from your receiver if youd like.

          sorry

i'm new to the whole LiPo and brushless technology.

these are the first ones i've had only used NiMh packs up until now.

what do you mean when you said keep an eye on that ESC.

is it a poor quality one ???

i just got the ESC card because i didnt realise it could be done any other way.

I think rum meant that when running 4s or better, sometimes the esc's b.e.c. can be unreliable. I however have run many of the seaking/turnigy esc's on 4s with no problems. Its up to you. I can try and post a page from mt ekos manual that explains the programming for the esc a little later.

              +1

The BEC on the ESC also creates quite a bit of added heat for the ESC. After watching a new Turnigy 120a ESC burn up due to the BEC overheating, I stopped using the built in BEC's. I use the Turnigy SBEC's, they are about $6 and have worked well for me. I wire the power into the battery power connectors on the ESC, so no need for extra battery. It just keeps the BEC heat separate from the ESC in my case.

              Hope this helps, good luck!

FWIW- the Genesis should reach ~42mph stock on 4s and run well.

                Hi Guys

                Thanks for the info

I had no idea that the built in BEC could cause issues

                I have ordered a couple of :

Turnigy 5A (8-26v) SBEC for Lipo

One for my SV27 as well

For the sake of a few dollars its not worth risking the ESC

Nice Blog FighterCat i was really interested in the hatch seal for the Genesis.

Wanna do that with mine so no tape needed.

                    Hey HydroJerry

Do you think theres enough water going through the cooling system.

Would it be worth adding another pickup somewhere.

I've only just got my LiPo packs and stuff so i've not run mine yet.

I was worried that this motor would overload the packs.

But sounds like its all good.

I was just on rcgroups and one of the guys saw my vid there and noticed that on one of my passes i got close to the shore and threw up alittle mud (he says) and may have clogged my water pickup so no dont think it needs more but you will probly have to do the motor timming yourself so get the turnigy program card its like 10.00, you will love it,,,i didnt want to change everything in mine just run factory stuff so if you watch my vid you will see what your infor going stock on two 2s 5000 lipos,, i havent changed anything on mine...

Yeah i saw the vid, perhaps it did get blocked by something.

I'll post some photo's of the setup i got with mine tonight after work.

I know it has a 120A Seaking ESC can't remember motor specs but i'll check.

It seems well made and obviously goes pretty good so i'm happy.

This is a photo of my Genesis with the stock gear i got with it.

The ESC is a 120A seaking, and motor is a FSD F540-3674 KV:2075

What sort of prop would be good on it ???

This is a photo of both my boats

                            Genesis on 6S

                            Hy Guys,

I just received my Genesis yesterday and tried it today using 3S 2P 2200 120A ESC.
The boat run Ok, but the batteries where burning.

So one idea was to use 3S bateries in line in order to get 6S nad reduce the current during usage.

Does anybody knows if the stock engine will support 24Volts of the 6S.

I bought 2 3S 4000mA 45C, to reduce the problem, but I would like to run it in 6S.

                            What do you think?

                            Thank

                            Ignacio
