This would make a great FE starter boat. Low cost and very configurable.

        Enjoy.

          Hi guys!!!

I bought one of those cat´s secondhand, from a guy who bought it secondhand from another guy.

None of those two guys finished building the boat and the parts that were built was not properly built so I glass clothed/epoxied the ply motor/servo/esc board to the hull, did some reinforcements, putt the cheapo HK car ESC (with a very poor attempt to water cooling/proofing) in the bin.

Then I started the build, I installed a Vigor VS-2HMB servo, a cheapo HK 120A water cooled ESC, properly hatch fastners, strenghted the hull on some places where it felt a little to flimsy, built two battery mounts from 2mm carbon fiber board scrap pieces and glued one in each sponsoon.

I have tested the boat two times, i runs fine with the CG far forward, the ESC, motor and LiPo´s are not even warm when the LVC kicks in, the motor is actually cooler then it was before I started running, the only part that is a little hot is the caps on the ESC butt I have a pack of 20 50V 1000 uF caps coming in the mail in couple of days.

I will take a trip to the lake this afternoon/early evening so I will update here after that since I´m going to try a couple of different props and strut heights/angles.

          Cheers!
