Robbe Colt Hydroplane... I set it up for our O-Sport Hydro class on 8-cell NiMH and a Nemesis 8L motor. Ran it usually on an X442 prop and the damn thing was REALLY fast, especially after I went to town modifying the sponsons and bottom of the hull. I still have it, though I don't think it'll ever run again. Got wrecked in it's last race. I ended up winning our Gold Cup with it all taped up for the "Winner Take All" final!

I'll try to dig up some pics tonight to post.

Come on guys... you HAVE to include PICS!! :D

My first boat was just three or so years ago. I found a Kyosho jet stream 800 in a closet in a box at our family vacation home. My brother in-law had received it years ago as a birthday gift from his parents, but he had never built it. It was a rainy weekend, so I decided to blow the dust off it and build it. I remember running it the first time and being surprised at how "fast" it was. Imagine how surprised I was when I dropped my first SV27 in the water and hit the gas! That is a moment I will never forget. We bought two of them to race and thinking they were a bit faster than the Kyosho we put the buoys about 30 feet apart. Chuckle. We still have the Kyosho boat at the river house and I still take it out and run it around now and then. With that deep vee it looks nice cutting through the water. Looks just like the picture I attached.

1986 and my first boat was a Aeromarine Competition Cat (Compt Cat) with an OPS 67 engine. I almost gave up the hobby when I attempted to build that first radio box, but I learned. Many Sprint Cats (67s and 90s) followed.

In 1957 I was living on a small island off Long Island N.Y. - Long Beach. I had a
20" or so plastic crackerbox with an .049 powered outboard-no r/c. K&B I think. I'd go out into the bay in a buddy's boat, crank 'er up & chase it all over the bay.
No pictures [ sorry D], but I have clear and fond memories ! Scroll forward some almost fifty years, I'm livin' aboard, waved goodby to wife #2 & got the scale boat pictured. Then a Twinstorm, a Caribbean Cruiser, then the Drifter which at my first SAWs set a record [thanks to Jay Turner's tutelidge]. That got me really hooked !And the beat goes on....

My very first boat was a Robbe Little Devil. It was a single motor version of the Scarab twin that was popular at the time (early 90s). I still have it, and have been thinking about putting a modern FE drive system in it. It is a pretty scale version of a Scarab 38 KV (Miami Vice).

That's a great looking boat ! I was a huge Miami Vice fan & loved it when Crockett & Tubbs ran it. Hook it up with a BL motor & speedy [ A BJ motor would give decent scale speed] & post some vids

35 years ago, 18" dumas atlas van lines and a .049 engine. Set the rudder in the creek and let it run in circles. First electric was a hydroplane MPR, the one that you could make several different teams with. Early 80's. Love for boats was that we live 10 miles from Madison In. where the unlimiteds run. I wish they would ban turbines, can't stand them.

back in the day i was working for pro-line when they bought out MRP so my first FE boat was a black on black tunnel hull along with just about all of the others they made. but i loved the outboard stuff the most.

First boat was a Traxxas Blast for my son. Second boat for my son was a Proboat Fastech. Then I got a Toysport Syncron for myself, then a Tenshock Mono1 for my son. The Blast is now the rescue boat.

Darin wanted pictures so here is one. The first, and last picture of my Graupner Tornado. The hatch was lost long before this and a piece of wood took the drive shaft to the bottom. I thought it was a great boat back in the old days.

Well I got into R/C about 2 months ago...decided I wanted to get into boats more than anything and my first boat was actually two boats...

I ordered this one first: Proboat Shockwave 26 Brushless

And this one the same day...but this one actually arrived first and was the first boat I ever drove: CBM Marlin Cruiser

Figured 2 was better than 1, and I wanted my Dad to be able to enjoy the hobby with me as well as the G/F if she chose to...and for only$70 new the Marlin was a great RTR boat complete with battery and charger and I still love driving it...it is perfect for them to drive as well being they aren't as good with R/C lol

Now less than 2 months into the hobby I also have a Traxxas Slash to feed the addiction on land and I have a Proboat Formula Fastech on the way... Didnt take long for the bug to bite me lol
