I buy TP packs as well, and decided to do some testing with my eagle tree. I found that my TP 45C packs performed the same as my XPS 30C packs with power systems that pull less than both pack's C rating. The testing was done with a power system that averages 95 amps so the amp draw was no where near either pack's C rating.

After a lot of testing, I have concluded that buying higher C packs for power systems that do not pull close to the rated amps listed for the packs doesn't yield a difference in performance when compared to lower C rated cells... as long as the C rating for the packs are higher than the amps being drawn. The only time that you will see a difference in performance between higher rated cells is if your power system is pulling close to the pack's C rating. Then you will see the difference in performance between lower and higher rated packs.

Yeah, I'd stick with Turnigy and Flightmax for sport running. They will deliver more power than you'll prob ever use. Just like LuckyDuc said.

Yes, that is each. The regular price of these batts is $195. But I made a mistake. The price to you guys on OSE should be $165, not $175.

Here is why you should be looking at Hyperion batteries:

              5C Charge Rate OK
              4 times Longer Cycle Life
              Capacity and Resistance Matched
              Hybrid RS Nano Technology

You are NOT getting that with the HK batteries!

Yep! Hyperion is just as good or better but I can give you the same pack for a lot lower price. You might want to try them!

Not sure if most people know this, but many lipo packs can be charge at a higher rate than 1C
                  2C and 3C is possible

Yep. 5c is pointless. Can your charger do that? Where is the proof of 4x longer cycle life? Turnigy cells are matched, and I have no clue as to what hybrid rs nano tech is.. I'll stick with HK packs! Brushless, do you have this hull, or just considering it?

I agree, you would need a charger that puts out 25amps for a 5000mah pack..

Rum, I do not have this hull yet.. their is a guy about 30min from me who has one for sale

just for reference, in my n2 sport hydro on the same set up, my Hyperion G3 packs in 2s2p 35c packs 8400mah will stomp all over my Turnigy 40c packs at 9000 mah capacity, and come in cooler to, this boat is HARD on batteries so it needs everything it can get. ( the boat in my avatar)
