u can caculate what your timing should be based on your pole count and stator arms. The smaller the degree of timing the faster process speed u need. I THINK because the phases have to change in a faster time when the degree between the magnetic events is less.

But I think if it has auto the settings will be right. Since you have machinist skills id try to figure out away to impliment the shulze closed loop function onto that sensorless motor.

            Hello guys

Here follows a video that was filmed in a small meeting..
Running consistent 70mph...with a cupped 1655 prop, but as always, speed controller keeps cutting...I´m not liking schultze speed controller :S !
..Please come back mine old YGE 200 HV Navy...

Here follows a small video of it...Like it a lot..hope you like it too....

              Great video

              I'm just about to trial my Scorpion 4034 800KV X646 prop in a H&M drifter M
              How are your motor temps?

I have a rigger same size as yours will then trial this scorpion motor in that!!!

Would think your rigger a little faster with this setup maybe on a 1955 prop with more pitch??? what battries are you using?

Good to see people trying these Scorpion motors the have massive punch

This motor will also run on 12S - I'm sure you will get more speed out of this setup

                  More testing

                  Hello Guys...

Hev been doing some mores tests...Withou doubts the eaglee tree is a valuable help in these situations.....
Altough i wasn´t expecting these results, and i hope that you can help me.....
From mine point of view, and from the experience of other boaters that have the same setup,10S scorpion 4035/800 i have a free running rigger with a RTR weight of under 10lbs.......They are pulling X457 props and i don´t think that they are pulling the same current i am, wich leads me to incompatibility between the schulze 32 200 speed controller and the scorpion motor.

I have to diagrams, one with the octura 1455, backut with some cupping....seeing peak currents of 165 amps, and i can´t get it to full trohttle because the speed c ontroller cuts off..i have already saw s+eed controller cutting for reasons like overamp temperature under voltage but not in this situation.....

When i switch to a S235 prop the speed controller doesn´t cut off and let me go to full trohtlle, but amd draw is only 10 amp lower, and the speed controller is rated to 200 amp continuous and 10 second 260 AMP....Don´t understand what is wrong...

TempA is the temperature od the motor

Temp B is the temperature odf the speed controller...never passed 55º C

                  Waiting for yours precious inputs!

                  Very Best Regards

There are several potential causes of your problem.

                    - LVC: which you say isn't the issue here.
                    - Incorrect frequency: Scorpions like 8 mHz.
                    - Incorrect timing: Scorpions don't like low or high timing, around 15 degrees is optimum. Less or more can cause cogging or the cutout you reported.

I had similar issues when I first set up my HK4025/6 on 6S with a Castle ICE100 spinning an x455. The LVC was easy to fix by reducing amps. I had been using a higher switching frequency, reducing it helped. I went from 10 degrees advance to 15 degrees and the motor now performs great.

Hello Jay, thanks for your input....

see.....you are pushing a X455 with a 4025, i expect that i could pull the same at least.....Don´t you think that the AMP draw is excessive considering a free running rigger with a weight under 10lbs?

How many amps are you drawing from your setup?

                      Regards

                        Gerado,

Can you compare the Eagle Tree data versus the internal Schulze data for the same run?

Let me propose a test now that you have the eagle tree to log data. Start with the Schulze on auto settings for both frequency and timing and record a short run as the baseline. Next set the timing at a very low value say 2 degrees and make a quick run. Recharge the battery and increase the timing 5 degrees. Repeat the test in till the performance changes or you notice lots of heat.

By the way, I believe Schulze will have new firmware out after their summer holiday break which may address these issues.

Hello Tyler, thanks for your input.

They sent me a new firmware V4.0 in order to solve mine problems...but they are the same...
Only if you are refering to a even newer firmware that i don´t know!
As you know tyler the switching frequency is always automatic....But i will try what you have told me......
I can´t put less the 5º degress timing with the schulze, the softwares don´t allow me....the less i can put is 5º!
But from mine experience with the scorpion, more timing ,produces more heat...but i will try and comunicate mine experience in the forum.

                                Gerado,

Yeah the 4.0 software is what they loaded on my repaired 40.160. Try increasing the timing from the base 5 degrees and log on both internal and Eagle tree if possible.

I find it hard to beileve that motor is pulling that many amps on a prather 235. At 10S and 100+ amp you are around 4000W. This should spin a P235 like it was nothing.

All that extra current is being eaten up by heat in the controller and motor. When I looked at your older Leopard motor data the controller was very cool at 36C. What were the temps you measured with the HK 4035?
