Rigger 10S1P, Scorpion HK 4035 Schulze 32-200WK (Updated with video)

Hello Guys,i m needing some help from you...
    I have a 41 inch rigger powered by 10S 45C desire power batteries, with a HK4035 800KV motor with a 1655 octura prop.
When i used the YGE200 i defined the timing and switching frquency, altough i now use the Schulze 32 200WK, and that parameters are defined automatically by the speed controller!
The problem is that after runing 2 or 3 minutes the speed controller and motor are hot(none of them is watercooled),but when i used the YGE200 both the motor and speed controller were a lot colder!
The setup is exactly the same, only changed the speed controller....Does anyone have experience with the schulze speed controllers?
Not only that, but after exiting a curve if i give full throttle most of the times the speed controller, cuts off, that never happened with the YGE200...you can check that one or two times in the video..
Any input would be really appreciated...

    This is me,and the boat..

A small video with mine Nokia N97

Very Best Regards, and keep doing the good work

It sounds like the Schultz is auto setting the timing very high, can you set the parameters manually??
That rigger looks fantastic by the way, who made it ??

      Rigger

      Thanks for the comment!
the rigger was built by me....And i made the mould of the canopy too
The next step is to watercool the schultz and the motor...
I can´t tell you what timing or switching frequency i´m using on the schultze, because the speed controller automatically defines it based on various inputs, from what i assume!
On the YGE 200 i was using 18º timing and 8khz switching frequency,it´s what scorpion recommends....

      I´m doing 65/68 mph,but i think i can´t get more!
The hull is light, ready to rum it weights 9,8 lb (ounds) and i´m using 10S1P...i would expect mid to high 70'....
Do you think is possble,or am i being utopic?

      Very Best Regards...

Because of the small pond you are on and off the throttle a lot, that heats up the controller. Water cooling will help and you can set the Schultz manually check their web site for manual.

Put the YGE back in and try a 6518 or 6520 Voodoo prop, I think it will go past 80mph

            speed controller

            Hello Jcald 2000

I think that´s not the problem...I say this beacause when i hit the water the first time,if i give full throttle, the speed controller cuts off...
The problem might not be the temperature....

Andym, i would like to put back the YGE200, but i catched water on the FET driver, and all the fet´s gone, 4 months ago, that´s why i bought the schulze....

Isn´t the voodoo a too large prop for mine setup?

Well that power set up looks like a similar power to a modded Zenoah so I would say have a go, the 6520 is a great gas rigger prop. Your rigger looks very similar to a Rico hull.

...you can set the Schultz manually check their web site for manual.
Actually, you cannot and that could be the problem. The new Schulzes no longer have manually adjustable timing or frequency with the DIP switches. I do not have a programing cable so I don't know if you can make those changes via a laptop.

The problem could well be the timing or frequency the ESC chooses. My HK4025/6 will sometimes lose contact with the ESC and stop or slow down if I have too much timing on the Castle ESC. Frequency setting is important with these motors too. The distributor told me to start with low timing and work up until a problem occurred, then back down. He also said that lowering the PWM frequency might help.

You are not the only one to have issues with the new Schulze controllers.

Just wondering how you went with this rigger...

I just picked up a 4035 800KV going to run a 1955Octura on 10S in my rigger - - slightly smaller than yours
                  Will run a Etti 200HV

what speeds did you end up with and what were the Motor temps????

I need to know more about this boat/ look like this motor would work in my moongoose. If thats an eagle this is his old cousin.I may beg randy to re-do my tub in carbon fiber.Dont sleep on her I think this gurl is still competetive but what u got there my friend is something special.

                        Rigger specs

                        Hello guys..

No..it´s not an eagle sgx XFactor,it´s based on the KEP´s 2010 plans,http://ne-stuff.blogspot.com/2010/05...outrigger.html, but i made some slight changes for the conversion to electrics, speciallly on the sponsons, like increasing the AOA in front, because of the weight of the batteries....

                        Bedrock:

                        i´m running like you a Scorpion 4035 800KV with 10S with a octura 1655 and i´m getting 65~68 mph....
I believe i can get it to 75 mph,but the schulze isn´t helping beacuse is cutting off and getting hot, and the same happens to the motor 160ºF.
I belive the schulze isn´t getting the timing correct, neither the switching frequency...the motor likes 8khz switching frequency, and 18º to 22º degrees timing, but since everything is automatic with schultze, i can´t define any values.
Altough i´m waiting for the pc interface from schultze next week, and i can define the timming, but not the switching frequency!!!

Here follows some picturs of the boat...now, is race ready..

For heat removal ,since it´s an outrunner i made a special motor mount in order to make water circulate on the aluminium joint ares of the motor/motor mount!
This way is the best bor heat transfer...i´m going to use a special paste for heat conduction...Here follows some pics, hope you like it...

Hope you like it...any question..just ask

                        Very Best Regards

                              Hello ray

I designed and made this one by myself....
Can give you,or post CAD drawings of it...I know, don´t remember were, that someone sells a water cooled motor mount for outrunners....but dont remember were...

Very Best Regards, and hope, from mine calculations to take out 20ºc from the motor :)

If that Schultz helped me, i bet i could take more from it
