I looked thru the shop eairler. I saw the outboard unit they have . The one i saw was for a 540 size motor. I dont think the 580 motor would fit on it. If they do that would be great .

You need a 7.5 sized lower at least for that hull. Most of the FE lower conversions you see for sale are a 3.5 size. PM me. I have a couple 7.5 lowers converted for FE laying around.

CONVERT that K&B to FE! Those things are great... I agree with the 580 motor deal too. For the 7.5 sized hull, that motor would FLY!

ORRRRR..... There is nothing saying that the skag has to be under the unit. I think I have a pic at home to show this, but the Nitro guys used to run offset skags that were mounted to the lower unit at the cav plate or ??? Then they could be adjusted or replaced when damaged.

I'll see if I can dig out the pics to post... Be a LOT cheaper to make your own and mount it this way...

You and Brian have been running the 580 are they that much stronger than the 540 XL's to warrant the extra cost?

I haven't run them, but Brian did last year at the Pacific NW OPC championships in April... He ran it on a 7.5cc sized tunnel and the thing was WAY overpowered... INSANE power... He can tell you more about it, but it's definitely a lot more torque...
