Why go to a smaller prop? If temps are good, I would step up to a x642 or maybe an m445.

If he has ran the boat using the 540 12XL can he speaks of on the first page then he knows that motor will not handle those props. A stock TC31 comes with a .32 nitro motor. Thats approx 3hp or more then 2000 watts. There is no 36mm 540xl can capable of 2000 watts continous. I dont care if its a Hacker, Nemesis, Fiegao, Keda,..... This has been entertaining to say the least.

Johns right. Plus I only tried the carbon filled props. I have to try my prather prop cause I just finished sharpening it.

Go with a pair of CC/Neu 1520 on 6S. Theres a bunch of guys who know that hull so they would know better. I dont own one so not sure if they would fit in the sponson tunnels. Could go with a single Leopard. A 5692 would be alittle overkill but a 5682 would be right in the W/HP ratio. Then theres the herd of outrunners too.

If your sticking with the single motor, I would opt for the castle 1717.(1580kv) Its the same price as a feigao xl with waaay more power. If going the twin route, I would use the castle 1512's(1800kv). Both will run great on 4s, and short runs on 5s if it's still not fast enough. Either setup will smoke your old TC with the feigao xl!!

I think 6s setups are a little too muck battery weight for that hull with twins. JMO.

So you said 1517? What type of esc?
                              Maybe this one??

No, 1717. Go to castlecreations.com and click on the clearance sale section. They have 1717 motors for 70-bucks. The esc you pointed out will work great. I would keep the battery voltage to 5s max. That way you're not pushing the limits of the esc, and that motor has a ton of torque and will spin a pretty big prop. I would go with a 648 or a 452. I think it will be a reliable setup and you should see speeds in the 50's. You may get away with 6s on a smaller prop for some big speed, but my guess is you'll be happy with the performance on 5s. Even 4s for that matter.
