I would run 5S ...1 3S and 1 2S in series and after viewing data on an Eagle Tree for different props etc. I may purchase 1 3S and run 6S. Unfortunately this may not be the fastest setup with the items you have purchased but it will still be FUN and a great learning curve.

I would start with 5S and buy the other 3S later. The batteries must be identical...same manufacturer, same series, same C and Mah. This is just my suggestion for what you have already purchased.

Do not get me wrong. The limiting factor in your setup is the motor and the size/weight of the hull it really needs a 580 series or a Neu, but will be fine with your 12XL and 5S or 6S and a conservative prop to begin with and starting with your COG at about 30%. Also I strongly suggest you buy the extra cap bank for your ESC. Enjoy your build and use a thrust bearing on the motor http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...hrust+Bearings

Great broke the crank on the first run of the season this year. Humm maybe brushless, it's 120 shipped for the nitro.

Finally boat got back from painting.
A friend painted it for me, its black with Monster Stickers and of coarse the trailer I welded.
                      Pictures should be up today...
Im going to put it together, take a dry run,
and get it in the water, Hopefully soon!

                      Hull is 1.5lbs (pounds)
                      with nothing in it.

                        Finished!

I have to get my boat in the water and test it out.
Here are some pictures, tell me what you think!

nice paint job, though it may be hard to see on the water. I might suggest you shorten up the electrical leads and replace the Deans with bullet connectors.

Alright I'll switch the connecters. You mean by leads, the wire length right?

The battery wires off the speedo are pretty long. Can you route things closer? Ditch the deans. Go bullets.

How much shorter should I cut the wires?

                                green in the picture....
