Jason thats the only slightly difficult part. I made it.
I used a very heavy gauge aluminum because it was all I had.
I first unscrewed the front motor plate from the kb45. I than made a photo copy of it to use as a template. Than glued down the template to the aluminum and drilled the holes. And than just made the bends with a metal brake. There are some cheap metal brakes on the market. It took about a nights work, but came out good.
I made a template out of thin birch. I marked the ouput shaft and used an exato knife to round out a tight fitting hole. Then slid the birch down the shaft to the can and traced it. Cut that out. Last i marked the bolt holes on the edge of the can and probed inward with the tip of the exacto blad until I found & marked them all. Then just rounded them out with the blade. I got a perfect template out of that. I will be sending it off with the motor as a matter of fact. If anyone wants a copy let me know before friday and ill make it.
Steve and SJFE thanks for the input!
I wasn't sure Steve if you made that or not but that is a nice way to approach it.

What hull was that again you posted in this thread. First off, NICE setup! That is a work of art and should be framed on a wall after it's been driven hard. Thats the final result I aiming for. The motor mount; are you talking about a motor mount similar to the picture posted earlier that would work in my shockwave 36?
is this SW36 project worth venturing into? am looking to build a mono hull. usually windy at lake so a good wave cutting, performing hull will be my direction.

It runs good. But its no wave crusher. I'm sure I can put the tabs down a bit more but the speed will be sacrificed.
