We have two guys racing the Triton in P-Mono with 2200kv motors running 4s 2p 4900s ( yes it will fit) with 240s and 640 props.
They could use a little more beam but I wouldn't say they aren't competitive if properly setup.
    Both have Speedmaster hardware.
I built a Syncron for a club member with Speedmaster hardware, 6XL on a 120 to run on 2s2p with a m645 and it runs good also.

        Yes sir,
There are better hulls to race, just not with flood chambers.

My son just built a Titan 40 with the same P-Mono setup and he is one happy boater.

Funny thing is if I do get one..I don't want the chamber. I like the extra freeboard it has. It looks more to scale than the Delta, DH, or Titans.

Next season. P Offshore & Mono. I hope to be able to attend 2 or 3 races out of town on the east coast and head out west once to run With the Dooz man :).

Get a Delta, No step 4, Titan 40, or similar hull. You want something in the 33 to 38" range IMO. Save your pennies, buy quality equipment and get out there and kick butt.

It's all about the beam hu...:). I am using my Jolly Cat in any offshore class. I will be upgrading my power & esc's first. Motors will take a bit longer. Maybe even another season. Neu's are as big an investment as an entire hull and hardware setup .

The Tritons would handle race water better if they were a little wider thats all.
You can get the job done with less expensive motors, concentrate on a good overall setup.

I have a Hydra 120 and a 240 and will probably put the 120 in this hull and save the 240 for my Jolly Cat. I ordered a 8xl and 9xl for the boat and have 2 pairs of 2s2p lipos, 1 pair of 4s and 1 pair of 6s and will probably try them all but in the end from what I have read I will end up with 4s in parallel and then I have to try a few different props, Steven said a carbon 45 or an x445 so I will probably start from there unless anyone has a better idea?

Wow, ordered Sunday night and when I got home from rc car racing (did not go well, stupid new car) I had a beautiful box in the garage waiting for me! Hull looks very nice and I will get to work on it in the am.

                              Thanks again Steven!!!!

got alot taken care of today and should be able to run her tomorrow afternoon. I am starting with a Feagio 9XL, Hydra 120, 42mm CF prop. I decided to get a JR St126MG servo for it (142oz torque and .17 sec) not a bad servo for 30.00. Plumed the cooling with some cool looking black tubing and found a waterproof antenna mount for it as well. Need to get 3 extensions for the esc, servo and battery pack so I can just remove them without opening removing the receiver.

                                here she is
