But i would not compare the boat in your video with a Lizard.
    /QUOTE]

I know Gerwin just showing him what a 1521 1.5 on 4s is capable of!!!!!

The guy in our club actually blows the boat over on the Black Jack set up it runs very well!

Nice! The boat must have a lot of power then, I mean to blow it over.

How about the engine I have, Feigao 540 8XL, does it have any limitations amperage-wise? Just so I don't fry it the first time I plug everything in.

By the way, I just took a look on the measurements on that ESC, and it's absolutely huge!

        125mm long
        60mm wide
        38mm high

        - that's insane! I just hope that it will fit in the boat.

Anyways, happy newyears eve from Denmark

        regards

Sebastian, big in ESC'S for boating is not a bad thing. I have other Turnigy ESC'S which are large and none have required water cooling as the heat sinks are massive.

An 8XL on 5S will result with an RPM of above 36000..That is a SAW rating. I would suggest a 10XL or even better 11XL for sport boating

The 8XL will give you a run time of a minute without damaging the motor.

            Hey Douggie,

I will order the 11XL when I have the money for it. Right now I still have to order batteries and the ESC including some other stuff as props etc.

So when I run the 8XL, you highly suggest only running it a minute or two? Doesn't seem like much, but if that's what it's built for, let that be so.

How much speed do you recon this setup will give me? 40 mph?

            Regards

            Sebastian

              Douggie is right !
The best combo is the XL10 on 6S.
If you wanna stick to the XL8, buy 4S .

The 8XL is boat and voltage specific. On a 27" mono hull with 4S it would be a rocket. You have a larger hull and require torque which comes from higher turn motors...Advantages lower amperage draw...ability to use larger props ...higher voltage to obtain your boating ambitions. For sport boating you want between 26000 and 29000 RPM

Ordering a 4s 5000mAh bat to start off with. Then I can always upgrade, same is with the engine. I'll order everything today and will be posting pics of the build.

Thanks for the help guys, really.

An 8XL can work very well on 5 or 6 S, it depends on the purpose of the hull, and the hull itself.

So what's wrong with setting up a 32" mono for SAW :-)

it only runs for 30 sec to 1 min.

hence the SAW setup. I ran an 8xl on 5s in a ul-1. It was reliable for short runs on a m445 prop.
