I have run my Neu 1515 1Y and Castle 1515 1Y back to back on the same boat and no difference in top speed. I have a 1512 & 1520 Castles also and like Neu's they are great motors and yet to fail me. I have a box of toasted motors, Leopards, Tacon, TP's and other cheapies. Given the same kv and watts, size, I might give the Castles an edge in acceleration over the Neu's. JMO. Going to time trials in the fall and Castles will be on the boats.

I torture tested a Castle 1515 1Y 2200 ( Finned Green Motor ) All last summer in my MC on 6S. It would run mid 70's with an M445 prop. Max, 3 minute run times. It has well over 50 runs on it. I'll be giving it a break this season. Want to try a couple of good quailty 2S Packs and maybe a 5S set up.
Motley Crew, Neu-Castle 1515 1Y 2200, 22 Volts, 180A ESC, Custom Motor Mount, .187 drive cable. Aero mod.
Best 74.1 mph, Average 71 mph.

Impressive. I have that same setup in my rivercat. I also have a 545 prop too. Nice to know the rivercat is capable of those speeds.

It was all about Aero once i got it into the mid 50's, Had to break up the wing effect to keep it on the water. I did the wiper blade trick i found on here.
This set up would no way survive any kind of organized racing, it's a play on my lake set up, with what i had laying around. A 70 mph blow over with a MC is not good at all.
I have been looking for a rivercat hull to replace the cracked, glued, epoxied and taped MC hull...lol
