    Experience with a Turnigy T5692 1320KV motor???

Anyone out there have experience running this motor? I have a brand new one & am considering using it in my Aeromarine Avenger cat build, 8-10S. I have used Leopard 5692s with excellent results, but couldn't pass up the T5692 1320KV for only $80. It appears to be well built & has a larger shaft than my Leopards, but other than the opinions by OSE guys who don't own or have ever ran one, I haven't read how well this motor works out in actual use.

Is there anyone out there who has experience running this motor & how well it performs? RSVP JIM

Yes Jim, I'm running 2. This is from a run this afternoon. I was running 7s1p per motor using Castle Ice esc's, turning X457's. I ended up breaking one of the .187 shafts. 65mph per Eagle Tree. These have replaced the 1717's I was running on 6s2p which was pulling spikes of 300 amps.

So you like yours, Oscar? I would run 1/4" flex drives Oscar, 3/16" would be puching it. The Eagle Tree spikes indicate (to me anyway) that you need to install capacitor banks on your ESCs to reduce the feedback ripple. Here's what OSE has: http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...i-e041&cat=136. If you want to build your own cap banks, I bought 16 Rubycon 35W 1500uF ZLH caps either on Ebay or with a web search (can't remember which). Was on a cap buying binge & bought others, but the Rubycon ZLH series is the best to limit ripple current, according to some really smart OSE guys. Any major brand - 5-6 caps each - with >35V 1500uF will work better than only the Castle's. If you are not running the new Castle Hydra ICE2 HV 200A ESCs send them to Castle for a no charge upgrade. I blew both of my "old" style Castles. JIM

I've got extra caps and they only help with ripple which is only about 1 volt. I have Rubycon ZLH, 2-1000's and 2-470's extra on each. Yes, so far I'm very pleased with them. I'm going to put CR X452's on and run it on 6s once I get the shaft replaced to compare with the 1717's. I know they're bigger motors but the fact I'm getting almost the same speed with less amp draw and also now being able to only run 1p makes it worthwhile. I do have the ICE2 version and I'll eventually switch over to 1/4. I haven't removed the old shaft yet, but it looks like it split where I had a homemade oiler on the shaft.

Cool. I've been running X6xx props and the extra pitch helps. Also gonna try out the 19xx & 21xx series for even more pitch. But, I'm building SAW cats. JIM

I was thinking of trying the 1320kv version for 6s runs in my DF39

                        hi

I have run 2 Turnigy 5682 1050kv, 10s in my twin cat epv135, getting a topspeed 76mph. FYI its a 6 poles motor not 4 poles. So is it ok if I use higher timing? and what is the function of adding additional cap's on esc?

So in this video you're running a 12S setup? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pTWO...1&feature=plcp

What's speeds are you getting vs the 10S? For a big boat like this, it really moves and has a huge rooster tail. Twin 5682 and twin Swordfish 240A? Do you have a data logger to see what amps you're pulling?
