I'd like to see some graphs showing the different packs out there today. I'm using China Hobby Line 30C 6200mah 5S packs and they're performing fairly well. They drop to about 3.5v/cell under 150-180A loads but I've started running them in 10S2P configuration and I can easily pull 250A (125A per pack) and they come in slightly warm.

I'm going to purchase two Revo packs so I need to figure out what packs are best for my applications...I might pick up 4 just so I can do a head to head comparison. If I do go that route, I'll post the graphs on OSE this spring.

I'm not going to mess with my chargers end voltage per cell so regardless of the 427 or 435 rating, I plan on keeping them at 4.2v/cell...hopefully that will extend their lifespan. :)

With that in mind, I'm thinking about going with the Blend435 5S 5900mah 30C packs OR Blend427 5S 5500mah packs. I'm curious what the actual capacity will be if I keep them at 4.2v/cell?

The info is out there. Graphs of many different manufacturer's packs (Including China Hobby, which didn't do so well) in real life testing with real empirical data. Have you found the RCG thread yet? it's in the airplane section, titled "battery load testing" (or something like that). It's not the only source you should use and doesn't tell the who story, but it's definitely one of if not the best single threads for this topic.

I've seen the graphs on rcgroups...unfortunately testing batteries at a 3C load is pretty useless when it comes to real life applications in the FE world. I'll keep checking but I'd like to see 5000mah+ batteries being subjected to 100+A loads. The only experience I have to date is with CHL batteries, which drop to around 3.57v/cell at a 125A load. This is pretty similar, if not slightly better, than the batteries sold by MotionRC labeled as Admiral 6S 5000mah 50C packs. These batteries drop down to 3.4-3.5v/cell under a 120A load.

Doesn't appear to be working anymore...I tried placing an order and it's not going through. REVOBLEND111 appears to be working, but it's only 10%. Does anyone have a 15% coupon?

Also, I'm assuming the Blend427 40C packs will work far better than my CHL 30C packs, but I'm not sure I need to spend another $25/pack to jump up to the 70C level???

Mine is only 10% and it only works on the silver series. Why get anything else anyway?

I think he does some "longevity" testing late in that thread at low current drain, but he definitely does 20c, 30c, and 40c testing earlier on. I would agree that 3C is not very relevant to our interest in terms of performance under load.

You are correct...and I stand corrected. :) The thread on rcgroups was very helpful and I ended up purchasing 4 of the 5S 5500mah 70C packs instead of the 40C packs based on all the positive reviews.

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2169215 --- This is the thread that really pushed me towards the 70C packs...thanks for all of the helpful information guys!
