Yep it seems like there has been a lot of ignoring the basics, current draw, c ratings, etc. for speed, power, zoom zoom! It is wise to ensure that a 'buffer' is retained on the current drain. If you are going to suck 200+ amps then 2p setups are essential. I know that if I use an average of 150A current draw during a race then I need batts that can handle at least 200A or more or they will suffer, so will my speed and reliability. I'm using 5500 70c revos now, which is better than the 5000 40c turnigy blue and similar to 5000 65c nanos (the nanos just didn't have a long lifespan). This is giving me a better safety margin and I hope speed and reliability. It is not just an excuse to try and get absolutely as much as I can out of the setups. If you want more out you have to put more in!
I have though learned quite a bit more and am now putting more focus and attention on the use of my batts than I was previously, and that can only be a good thing for my racing and wallet!
