The weight is not going to be that big of a factor. To be totally honest I would recommend venom lipos. Good quality with a lifetime replacement warranty. You're going to pay for them tho.
Well not to be argumentative with somebody that is trying to give me good advice but weight is a key factor in any boat. Especially fast boats with surface running drives. Remember this is a 29" Cat that is already getting two heavy batteries a heavier motor and a heavier ESC. I'm after every mph I can get here. I'm not sold on the hard case though. The Turnigy Lipo's are heavy as bricks...
This is what I'm after right here....start at 3 minutes in, wait for the fourth or fifth pass....The 2s will be my fun time batteries for the BJ.
Still trying to decide what I want for my 6s MG setup...

I have used this for a long time until they were out of stock for the longest time:http://www.hobbypartz.com/98p-30c-5300-2s1p.html
I know it is only 30C, but I run my UL-1 and MinicatUSA's Samurai cat on these, they worked great. I also like the 5300 mah capacity. Since I don't race, they were totally satisfactory for powering the UL-1 2030kv motor. With these newer batteries, I have to watch the length though, the UL-1 hydro would not take a battery the size of the 6000mah lipo. Just pointing out.
The Samurai is a 27" cat, BTW.
The hard case I wanted was and the 3s packs I want are Out Of Stock...Don't order them all before I do
OK, actually , as I double checked, it is too long for my use. I can tell you that the 4s I bought, I love them. I hope you find the right batteries for your project!
Just ordered two of the 2s 6000's for my BJ to run in P. Waiting on a reply from him on the 3s I need for my MG project... Battery problems SOLVED...Now on to trying to get the rest of what I need....

What kind of packs are you talking about? The hard case? The 6000 soft packs will fit fine in my boat. Plenty of room to find COG...
The 6000 mah pack has a length of 195 mm, I need the 5000 mah packs which is shorter, it is not a question of COG, I don't want to redo the battery tray.
Which boat are you buying for ? My battery tray's should be plenty long enough in the BJ or am I missing something here....

No, you haven't missed a thing, I am buying for the Samurai, I have two of them, on my first one, I was still quite new to FE, I fashioned a tray to accept the Gens Ace packs which is a great deal shorter, and the hull can't take a redo . Also I have a Shovel nose that will take shorter packs, the 5000mah will do. That is what I meant, sorry if I confused you!
Alright, damn you and Lenny had me worried there. I saw your edit Lenny...Thanks for clarifying...lol
I hope these packs are what everyone is saying they are in that thread...I want this thing to go ballistic. Hopefully it will out run my Jaguar...
