In the end, lots of these problems are generated by TRAXXAS, plain and simple. Traxxas wants to sell boats that run well on both 4s and 6s and keep advertising them that way. You cant have it both ways. With some of the smartest designers in the world working for them, I'm not sure why they cant figure this out!!!
So their customers keep BLOWING them up. Shame on them for this.Steven Vaccaro

I'm sure the designers have a clue, just the suit w/o sense don't want to hear it, now the PB/HH suits are following suit

What kills me is the people that know about the problems and continue to buy in the first place! I can't tell you the number of people that email me starting off a conversation like, "Hey I have a Spartan, when the esc/motor blows what should I go with?". WHAT they are already conditioned that the esc will blow and they will be out of pocket for a new one. What am I missing?Steven Vaccaro

I had a guy want a 70mph setup. I told him straight out not to do it, when it crashes it will sink like a rock when the hull folds up. He wanted to anyways.Steven Vaccaro

This is a funny video we always show on the air side whenever a new guy comes along and wants to fly something out of his league. Its far fetched on topic but worth a laugh.

Ummmm... excuse me, but the Pro Boat 6S ESC IS a 6S ESC... it's bigger, and has been tested to be such... Not sure why this is a problem.
It's a hell of a lot easier to get a boat into the 50's reliably on 6S than it is on 4S. If you do it right, it's EASIER on the power system, not harder... I would have no problem running a Pro Boat 1500KV motor on 6S with this new ESC... ~36,000 RPM on the appropriate prop... 50's easy... In fact... using the PB 1.6" x 2.5" prop as a sample, on 6S, the power system should be capable of around 59mph... figuring 30% slip, and REALLY good batteries maintaining 4.0V/cell under load, which never happens... so 50 is actually about right...
The wires have been upgraded... the contacts have been upgraded... we all know that the ESCs are way underrated from the factory... and it's officially rated at 80A...
AND, most hobby shops stock 3S packs... while 4S packs aren't quite as common in the car/buggy world (though they are getting more popular...)... and most low-end chargers are capable of charging 2S/3S packs, but often not 4S packs.
Traxxas wanting to make a boat run on 6S isn't surprising and isn't the problem... it's their IMPLEMENTATION, and complete lack of understanding on what it takes to make a reliable boat that IS the problem.
People have been running the PB stuff on 5S and 6S for years, and it hasn't been an issue. A stouter ESC, and upgraded power system components, should just make this even more feasible and more reliable.
If PB is willing to stand behind it, then I don't see the issue. Personally, I like the flexibility, and I hope that it leads to the development of some larger versions of what we already have done, or perhaps some new offerings in larger sizes.Darin E. Jordan - Renton, WA

Is the motor that comes with the 6s esc suited for 6s use?Steven Vaccaro

For you it will work, you know the ins and outs of what to do, what to look for. But for Joe Newbi it just not the same.Steven Vaccaro
