If you are putting Greatstuff in and fiberglassing, you might be ok with 1/16th ply, but if you are going to go really fast and have a heavy boat (twins are not the light route) the you might want to work with 3/32.

I guess that depends on what you mean by fine. I don't know how they would work. I didn't want to use them because I want to do it once.
What speeds are you looking for? what motors? high rpms? very fast? go tough or you may be doing it again after a disaster.
I don't know if anybody has done it with SV struts."Look good doin' it"

Yep and after you add the cross pieces, you then cut the sides to match the lengthwise stringers and run grain parallel to your cross pieces. Make sure the cross pieces are tall enough that your skin will be touching it and not come in above and leave a gap.
