Delta 29" copy build -help needed!

    Hi all!

So I finally got the 29" hull, and now it is time to start planning what to do.

I have SV27 hardware and electronics that I plan on using on this build.

Since this is my first build, I would REALLY like to get some help from you guys.

    So where to start?

I dont have scuffing tube yet(unless I rip it out of the wrecked SV hull).

    Strut height?

    Rudder location?

    Anything else?

    Will post pics soon

Well if it was me with the SV esc, which i think is 45A?,i would go with the 9xl motor.Assuming your using 4S lipo.
Any higher KV will probably burn the esc.
My 29" runs with a 2300kv medusa motor and that burnt a 120A esc,4th run.But to be fair i overpropped it,just to see what would happen..

Actually, Steven told me that 13L or SV were good to use, 13l with it´s 2 pole has less torque, but more top end and it would be better when racing, and SV motor bor "casual use" , so I dont know... -and is´nt XL can way more Amp hungry?

I think it will run well with your SV setup. The SV motor is a pretty strong motor and should fare well in that hull. Plus, you already have the parts. You can always upgrade later.

So you say that SV motor over the 13L ?

I would. They are close enough in KV. But the SV motor has 6 poles and more torque.

To be honest, dump the SV 27 hardware and electronics if you have the cash and run a 9XL with Speedmaster hardware and a Turnigy 100 amp or higher ESC on 4S and an X440 to start with. The other suggestions are also wise

Have to agree with Douggie. The hull is worth the expense.

I and a couple friends have this hull running 540 8xl (or equivalents) on 4s lipos and the one thing I know is that it likes a rearward CG so plan your equipment placement accordingly.

I thought about doing something similar with the motor and esc out of my Blackjack 26. Douggie, about what range of mph would you get with the setup you suggested on this hull?

I'm also looking into the DF33" copy that the same seller carries, I had thought about something in the 9-12xl range of motors on an Etti 150, no idea on the prop or hardware though.

I ordered the SV can for now.

And this was suppose to be a BUDGET build :) ,so no new hardware/esc possible at this time.

Maybe I´ll build the 39" version next using proper parts, but not until next winter. For for now the only thing in my wallet is lint.

I still hope that this is not doomed to fail bacause I must use the SV parts...
