Thing about sliding is the moving part and getting it to bolt good enough. I would rather have a thin strap be the only moving part rather than the back half of the mount - but then you have the practical experience with your tool. This way both mounts could be bolted to the plate running along the hull and be rock solid!

You need drawing like one above but without confusing circles of the other end of the motor? So just front mount front of motor then back mount and back of motor? Got it. Comin right up. Would you like a side of bacon with that?

I guess I kind of agree with you on the strap system and a solid mount , sure I'll take some bacon with that.........

1/4" grid. The front I picture being screwed into the mount, might need room enough around shaft for thrust bearing. See what it looks like in 3D; I have an image, but would be good to see what your CNC machine thinks it will look like.

That's awesome, Peter. I can't wait to see them. I am sure they will be beautiful!

I am probably going to reinforce the motor area with CF and if it comes down to it, we could just glue the mounts into the sponsons. A little less elegant, but if there is a CF mat down, it should be pretty sturdy. I have always liked the idea of removable, not necessary, just convenient.

I think the back (toward the bow) should have a strap so the motor can slide in (aftward) and then drop into the back mount cradle, close the strap and secure. Sound good?

Jesse I can safely put a .70 inch hole there for thrust washer and coupler . will post G-code picture once its all writen tomorrow

Jesse sorry if I haven't posted anything yet , I have about 5 things on the fly right now but should have both mounts cut by friday , hopefully post the g-code pic thursday

Don't take my enthusiasm seriously, I can definitely wait. I got my rudder and transom reinforcements gluing now (marine epoxy holding multiple layers of crisscross grained ply. Struts are arriving shortly and mounts to be cut soon - oh yeahhhhhh

VERRRRRRRRRRRY nice! how do we connect them together? how about bolting these two ends to a plate that mounts along the tunnel? This would give me a little room to play with. These look really cool, now I can't wait again!

I got the rudder mounted up and the servo gluing. I will post pics later

I will work out the plate issue once these are done . they may also look a little fat , thats cause you are looking at the tool path and not the actual cut . Jesse do you want me to re-adjust the mounts width to compensate the plates width ....1/4 inch

I don't see a need; I was picturing the screws going through the mount into the ends of the plate - parallel to the hull (so the pointy ends of the screws point frontward and backward).

Jesse can you give me an exact micrometer measurement of the rear of you 1515 . the rear mounts have been cut to about 39.20mm but it is still a hair to small to fit over my 1527 . from what I hear the 1515's have a 39.00mm case . I wish I had a 1515 here this would be so much easier................
