No heat problems at all. The controller ran at a max temp of 158 degrees. I was also running 20 degree timing as well.

Ok so far I've received the rudders, Octura prop, hydra 240 and water cooled motor mount and this is what it looks like so far. Keeping in mind that only the rudders are actually installed properly.

The motor is just the stock motor for show until I pick up the 7xl, but this is basically the way the boat will be setup. The Hydra has had it's BEC removed so I can run my 4s setup without damage. The turn fins have been angled inward for better cornering. The stock water pick up has been removed for the purpose of looks but the entire drive system will be replaced with and OSE catamaran rudder-behind-prop system, as soon as it arrives. The batteries have been dropped down in the transom as low as possible and as far back as possible. The Shaft will need to be replaced as it has somehow become damaged. I believe that it was twisting in the wrong direction therefore the prop might need to be changed to a right hand prop. The dual water pickups will be split up to cool separate components. One will cool the motor and mount while the other will cool the Hydra. I will also place another outlet to the right side of the boat for symmetrical water exits.

The boat as it sits right now has it's cg at 6 inches from the rear. Here are some pictures for you to see how she looks so far. Again keep in mind that the boat is still under major construction and will not look dirty with messy wires hanging around it will look professional and clean.

          Thanx Steve

Steve showed me a very nice looking strut rudder combo that OSE had in stock (tfl-502b15) that I will use to replace the stock outdrive of the Blackjack. I can't wait till it arrives so I can mount it and get pics of the stern to show.

Got them and installed them. In the pic's to come bellow I've only filled the holes. They still need to be sanded smooth and painted. I also have the Octura auto bailer installed.

I've heard that having the cg at 6-6.5 inches from the transom would not be that good, so I'd like to know where the general consensus stands. Right now with the motor in place and the esc in place the cg sits at 8 inches from transom. here are some pics of the setup as of now, with the new Feigao 8xl motor wich JUST came in.

50's??? I'm just using the 8xl for fun. I'm not racing this boat or trying for any records. I do this type of thing for all my rc's. My Lazer zx-5 sp edition is running a mamba 9000 with 4900 lipo's, My losi 8t is running a k5.9, my admiral toy is running 2 mamba 9000's, and now my BJ will be running the 2073kv 8xl. I like to bash as there are very few races in my area.

                          Sven,

How is the (tfl-502b15) strut rudder working out for you?
I'm still running stock and would like to upgrade soon, just not sure which route to take.

It runs amazingly. The boat literally jumps out of the water with the equipment I have in it. fun as hell but the boat has two problems. The flex shaft comes out of the coupler, and the boat jumps left and right if I peg it coming out of the corners, or pegging it off the line.

                              Sven,

                              How's the boat running now?
What steps did you take to resolve the problems?
I have a similar inline strut rudder that I'm waiting to come in...

                              Thanks.

I took the boat out later that same day and just tried to get her top speed, as I noticed if I get on the throttle slowly it would run it's top speed. BUT the blackjack ended up dancing a bit too wildly and took one hell of a flip, and due to my tug not working properly the hydra ended up getting damaged as did the spectrum. So I have put the 1500kv bj motor back in it just so I could run it again. I need to make a bullet-to-deans adapter to run the lipo's, and once that is complete I'll take her out with my camera and take her for a test run. I hope to see faster then 36mph runs as the stock drive system is no longer being used, and I'll cross my fingers that she doesn't bounce around. If she does I'm going to remove a turn fin and see how it goes. Hopefully I won't need to remove both.
