It was the 3-7S one ( http://www.himodel.com/electric/HiMo...200A-OPTO.html ). I did not use the BEC and connected a 5-cell Rx pack to the set-up. Waterproofing was done with a few coats of CorrosionX sprayed liberally over the entire ESC and left to dry(ish) between coats. You can see from my posts how it was watercooled AND fan-cooled.

Hi,good build thread,nice reading
Is the esc. still working fine?
Just for a weight comparison,i'm putting together a 29" cat with a 400g.motor and a 6000mah 5S pack using a 170g.esc.total weight will be similar about 2600g.
Cat hulls tend to be heavy with the glass work compared to a mono, for example, same setup as my 29"cat in a 33" Delta(copy) is only 2300g.
If you decide to keep it,i would strip out all the wood stringers etc,you would save a good 300g.
weight in a FE makes a big differance in performance/speed.

Took her out yesterday and today for a couple of runs. No GPS, no temps, just a lot of fun! Still with the 215 prop, 13XL motor, 4000mah 25C 6S1P lipo's and Himodel 200A 4-8S ESC. Ran her until the ESC's LVC kicked in and had to swim for her... Great fun nonetheless.!Here are a few pics of her as she looks nowadays (new canopy).

I know what you'er going thru. I recently finished a 33 delta force with a 14xl, hydra 240 low voltage esc and a x645 prop 2 3s5000. I was dissapointed looked like an sv on steroids. Had a 13l nemisis laying around popped it in and 2 2s 4500 boat is like a rocket very pleased with no over heating issues. I say try the 10xl and you might be suprised. I also a tc31 hull that I want to set up with twin motors in the future. lots of luckIf you think you're fast. You're not!!!

Both setups you mentioned are about the same final rpm. The 13L is a bit more rpm, but not much.Steven Vaccaro

Get a Neu motor dont settle for less. I have been running a TC31 FE conversion for a couple years and running the right motor makes all the difference. I settled on a 1521 1.5Y and its got all the power you can need for sport running. A prather 225 and you will be well over 50mph. With temps barely warm on all the important parts.

The 1515/1.5Y on 5s is a really nice choice. I ran a M545 with this combo for 50mph runs and very cool temps!!My prop hasn't been wet in a while.Comment

Yep. I run it on 6S2P just for endurance. A mild setup yet you can hand the boat to a beginner and it drives sweet even to a newb. Stable in wind and chop. There arent too many 50+ mph boats that can boast that unless their monsters. Not bad for a hull under 1 meter.
