Runs great on 6s with a 1050kv motor. RPM's a little over 23k the entire run, eagle tree has it at 80amps average with some 105 spikes in the turns. A 225 is what I decided runs the best. My Geko 201 puts the peak speed at just over 58 mph but we all know GPS lies to our faces. It wasnt until I had a couple bouys out and used help and stop watches that I could get the speed acurately. Typical straight way speed slightly over 50 mph. A Prather 225 is a 48mm dia prop with a 2.8 pitch. Plenty of prop for this size hull. I've run this hull with many combinations from 1445, a x447, even went up to a prather 230, then even tried my specialy mod'd props like texas cuts in various diameters. Top speed moves about but so do the other issues, heat/run time/stability. The key to getting this hull right is strut depth/ rudder length/ COB just in the right spot. I even modified a ABC 50/90-3 for giggles specificly for this hull. It ran pretty darn fast but the amps were way over my speedo I like in this hull. I use a Sentilon HV 100A. Been running the same speedo now for more then 2 years.

I took some very basic advice from Jay Turner a couple years ago. He made it very clear that perfecting your setup and not throwing away the power you already have in your setup gets you much further then you may think. I bet I am overpowering this hull with a 1521. Wasted power most likely!

Sorry to hear about your crash. I have been lucky and never lost a boat due parts failure. Fire yes! What a heart sinking feeling to see your labor/ money sink to the bottom. I feel your pain.

Some pics of the crash damage! Could rescue all electronics to working condition except the servo... Is this damage repairable or would you guys advise me to purchase a new hull?

I love repairing, but that crash looks nasty, I would buy a new hull (my opinion)

              OOOUUUUCCCCHHHHHH!

How about a Mean Machine hull for $60 @ Aeromarine? The two hulls actually look very similar, not sure about the dimensions or hull quality though. Might be worth a look.

Damn Dawg. That was full speed ahead! Damn the torpedos. I vote for replacement too. But I wont bad mouth the T/C hull. It would have looked far worse if you had used cheaper Chi stuff. I have owned a MM that ran decent but I dont think the seams are as beefy as a T/C. They are tanks and not the lightest layups. But strong.

Well, I plan to revive the beast before our summer here in the southern hemisphere. But it seems that all the suppliers of the TC31 hull only (PRB2765) are out of stock! I would like to use a TC31 hull again due to the custom made motor mounts and other hardware and a proven set-up that I acheived after much trial and error. Any tips on where to buy/order a new TC31 hull?

Just had her out for her first outing since the rebuild. She ran like a cat on a hot tin roof! Beautiful!! But on pass #6 I miscalculated the location of a small island in the loch and flipped her... No damage to the inards or the boat itself, only my ego... I had a RC friend of mine with and he just happened to take a short video clip of the roll. We'll try to get it posted as soon as possible. I ran her only with the sub-hatch installed without the canopy.
