I think your setup is good, if your motor stays in good temps
How much does the boat weights with the <a onMouseOver="javascript:window.status='batteries'; return true;" onMouseOut="javascript:window.status='';return true;" href="http://thebigsvc.info/?v=4%2E03&ss=batteries">batteries</a>?
It wieighs 2.245kg... Feels quite heavy.... but it is quick... Iand I love the way the graphics have worked out...

Ok, Now I'm getting lost! This is my first FE and brushless too... Can you explain the difference against what I am running and what has been sugested?????
I by no means want to give the impression that I'm knocking your setup. If all is good, then stick with it. But for sport running when you want to get good speed and reliability, you want to keep your motor RPM's in the 27k to 32k range and your ESC operating at 70% to 75% of it's operating max amps and voltage. This will give you a more reliable setup and you won't be replacing parts as often. Pushing above that and FE can be an expensive hobby.

I didn't think that you was 'knocking' it... But now ..... Just kidding! Like I have said I am new to this and I'll need to measure everything and see what it's doing....
Thanks for your advice!!!

With your current setup...You're going over 48k unloaded Rpm's. Those kind of Rpm's are what some more experienced guys run at SAW events where reliability isn't as important as speed. My advice would be to not listen to just me. But read what's on my previous link and take the advice of other experienced FE boaters as well. I would rather you be happy with this hobby and have fun with it. Replacing burnt or broken parts can just lead to frustration. I'm sure others will chime in with their thoughts. One last thing, congrats with the speed.

Well, If I am pushing it that far, I guess it's no supprise that it will have some good speed, it's great to upset a few of the guys that think thier gas boats are fast and theys're not getting much more out of them.... Ha!
Don't get me wrong, I run gas and nitro boats too, I just picked this FE up and it's so much fun... Until something breaks!!!
I will take your advice, go for a different motor and fit this one back in when I want to do some big speed runs... I must sya though, at my local lake, the water is rarely so calm that I will be able to run my cat' so that's when the big boats come out....

ozzie-crawl when you get online, please give us more info on the setup, thanks
this setup is just for straight out speed runs limited to around 1-1.5 minutes
basicly a 7xl on 4s mystery 200a a m642 will see you hit 55mph constantly, to hit 60+ take a x447/3 prop detounge it and cut it down to around 44mm
running like this you will want to move your c.o.g forward to keep it on the water and this affects your turning
but if your just chasing gps speeds this is a great setup, a 11 or 12xl on 6s maybe a better setup, have seen these boats run a blackjack motor on 6s and they are missiles, motors dont tend to last long
a 11-12xl would probably be a safer setup
I have a question for guys using the HOTR Aluminum rudder and strut,I wanna know what kind of modification you did to mount 3/16" propellers
You can drill out the Lead teflons in there starting with a bit asa small as possible, working up one bit size at a time until you have drilled them out. You should be able to CA in a piece of K&S brass tubing as a sleeve and then use a Speedmaster Sleeve bearing. Then you can use standard 3/16" props with a proper flex shaft from hughey or Octura.
.02 worth
BTW, How flat are the sponsons if you place a rule along the bottom of both sponsons???

try this site it will explain fairly well about detounging etc http://rcboat.com/prop.htm
if your not sure on prop mods there is a few guys on here who do them.
forgot to mention a detounged 440/3 blade is a great prop with a 7xl as well
around mid 50s but allows a bit more run time (depending on setup)
