Matti, you are going to be using small props to get by with that or you are going to spend alot of money to get a speed control that can handle that type of amperage or...

Why not a 6xl on 4s ? I can't see of making a small hull 6s just for the sake of it. All that rpm is going to eat bearings in your motor and your driveline too.

What do you want the boat for ? if its SAW, then its probably not the best hull for it, but who knows, best of luck, if its sport go for a 9xl on 4s and run a prop in the 40-47mm range for heat style racing. An ABC H5 would make a meaty SAW prop with a few mods for such a setup imho.

The most I would go is a 12XL if you want to run 6s

High voltage and low impedance = high amperage = 3 minutes per run

Race. I have driven it with 7XL+4S and it is very fast but wires get too hot and short run times.

if you have run it on 4s with a 7xl and wires get to hot and short run times why do you think running 6s with that motor will be any better

much better choice than a 7XL IMO
                      longer run times to

I'll dive in here as my cat is only a little bigger than this one but probably about the same weight or even lighter.
                        I have a 7XL on 4S and I am about to swap that out for a 8XL on 4S or a 9XL on 5S.
The 7XL is fast and any prop that is a suitable size for this hull will get the temps up in under 2 minutes.
Even a 440 will get the power system well warm.

The 7XL is good for sprinting but not good for sport / fun use.
                        See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

Don' t forget that with 6S ans 540XL 12 turns you can put a bigger propeller if you want a very high speed

I have recently ran my cat again with 6s but this time i threw watt meter in it with the 8 xl on 6s I am pulling 129 amps. I ran it 3 times resetting the watt meter each time and it gave me the same # and that was running it pretty hard from dead stop to wide open throttle many times I am not sure of the constant amp draw my meter only shows the highest spikes so it is maybe lower than 130a the highest recorded speed was 63 mph but this day I did not have my gps on hand. Hope this helps
