Wow Nick. very sweet that is wild Nice runs and looks stable. I'm just starting my build so it will be a while before I get mine out, probably by next spring. But man your video inspires me now. Very nice clean build btw.

Thanks guys, Its an 8xl and an Etti 150 opto on some Hong Kong 6s,and yes Ken it is very stable it seems the faster it goes the tighter it gets(on calm water) I think we could pull some pretty good speeds out of this hull 63 mph looked like a breeze. I'd really like to see what other people are getting out of this boat

            Nice run there Nick.
            I've had mine up to 52mph (GPS over 5 laps) with the 8Xl & X642 prop on 4sLipo (HiModel 5350mah 25c) & 200A HiModel ESC.
Never thought of running 6s on the 8Xl. That's over 44000 RPM (unloaded.)
Any idea what the loaded revs might be?
            All the best.
            Paul.

yeah I run about the same (52-54mph) on 4s with X642 which is the prop I ran with 6s on the video it gave me a 10 mph difference from 4s to 6s although I don't have any numbers on the temps I think it was a little to warm for my comfort I may try it once more just to get the numbers though. The RPMs are high I know(See the danger. Then do it anyway huh?) I did the math on it for a Supervee I am building ( in the Supervee 27 threads as supervee rebuild) as a one pass speed boat just to see how fast I can get it to go I'm still not sure what I'm putting in it though I just finished it last night. As far as loaded RPMs I'm not sure at all but I've already started buttering up the wife and if I'm lucky Santa will have an Eagletree with all the bells and whistles under the tree for me this year

Good looking cat while she's running man. It sure sounds nice running those high RPM's. I'll need to come down there with my riggers and show ya'll what high 70's look like......

Hey that sounds like a plan, always up to seeing new boats around not many people around here get into these things. As far as the bayou clearing up you just gotta catch her on a good day.

I would really like to see that. It's pretty much just me and Nick(bigdg357) that run electrics around here.

Yep, thats our problem too. I live in South Louisiana we have very little land here, water everywhere and NO ONE is into this at all. I just don't think its out there enough.

There's not many people in my area that are into RC boats. I tried to get my friends interested in this but as one put it, If he can't have a free hand for a beer, he's not interested.

                                Hi Nick.
He! He! Thanks for pointing out my motto." See the danger THEN DO IT ANYWAY!" I still hold to that. Don't get me wrong though, I don't see any real danger in running an 8Xl on 6s with the right prop & setup. I had just never thought of it, mainly because the local Council have put a restriction of 4s Lipo (max) on the pond where our club runs, so all our boats are set up for 4s.
So I might give 6s a try on another lake about 20 min drive further away. Might try an X442 to start maybe an M642 would keep the heat down a bit too.
Just have to replace the bearings in the motor first, they are a bit too noisy for my liking. They've done a fair job for the original set.
Hope you get the Eagle Tree system for Christmas.
                                Cheers.
                                Paul.
