you may find an ideea of how to build quite easy a water pick-up.
also on mine I needed to adapt a little bit even with the kit from china.

I am sure that would work, but I am trying to make this look like real 1:1 offshore boat, they dont have 50" drainpipe stuck on their rudders

So any1 tried that gundert pick up under the sponsons? -water exits on side or on transom for looks(gotta have chrome exits!)

Yes, that is the one I´ll use.

I´m not sure that is enough, that´s why I asked.

unless your using some really hot setup then it will be fine, if you have heat issues then more cooling isnt really going to help.
i have used that strut/rudder on the hotr hull running 6 and 7xl motors with no problems. what setup are you looking for long run time or chasing gps speeds

I guess that I´ll start with the 8XL(since I have it allready) and HImodel 200A esc.

I only have 2S1P lipos, so 2X2S1P(4S) it is then.

I started doing some decals too, first sheet is printed!

I was running a KB45 so I needed the extra cooling...
The water pick-up on the rudder works only at speed but should be fine.

8xl on 4s is a great setup with these hulls, a x642 will see you around the 50 mph mark just watch run time (tho should be good for at least 3-4 min depending on battries), if longer run time is wanted try a m440 or a 440/3
just start of small and work your way up

should mention as well if your going to start pushing this hull above 50 mph add a layer of carbon fibre down covering the tunnel down in the sponsons and up the sides covering the seam, they can split at the seams and if you flip hard enough crack the sponsons

Great thread guys thanks Scott for your comments, like Pate I'll be building one over the winter so these are some answers I'm looking for also since this will be my first cat.
Did notice also that the hull is a bit thin so I'll carbon fiber the tunnel and sponsons, also noticed that the fiberglass seam tape only goes along part way to the back and front seams, thanks for mentioning that they can split, l'll carbon fiber those areas also.

Steven has the hardware in stock! He had one black anodized but it has mysteriously disappeared

Just to make sure, this is the one we want on this cat, correct?
