Well long story short, I'm on blood thinners for the rest of my life, I have not let that stop me from weight training. So I've been taking this stuff called dhea that's supposed to boost testosterone because at 40 yrs old I need any boost I can get. Well both times I had nose bleeds I was on this stuff. My boss mentioned to me that he had a couple nosebleeds while on it but didn't think anything of it. Well mine get so bad they don't stop because I read that it has a bad interaction with warfarin (blood thinner im on). So I didn't have a fighting chance taking it. Guess I should have believed the warning but you know how on tv they always have these drug ads and list the side effects which usually is pretty bad side effects but is usually rare.....well I guess that's how I treated it. My fault. The first time it happened I missed almost a week of work. This time luckily I learned how to manage the bleeds better and I went to a specialist, he cauterized it and I went right back to work. Yes I've learned a lesson and no I won't be taking that crap anymore lol.

Respect Travis. My wife is on blood thinner injections every night. Gawd... with my needle phobia and all. But I get "instructed" how to spend my spare time too. Happy husband..... no strife..... heh heh heh. Anyhow glad you're on the improve. Interested to see how this build plays out.

Little update. Life's been getting in the way lately but I managed to sneak out to the shop for a couple hours and make a little headway. I filled in the booboo with epoxy and that was a couple weeks ago, I'm pretty sure it's cured by now lol, so I flat sanded it level. Turned out perfect. When the boat is painted you'll never see it.

I decided to drill a few more holes and mount the rudder. I cut my carbon plate out make my servo and receiver mount. The servo height and the rudder mounting all come into play together. I mocked it up to make sure the biggest prop I'll use won't come close to hitting the rudder and then went to drilling. I used a trick someone mentioned so the gelcoat doesn't crack again, I countersunk my holes a tad once I drilled them. Worked like a charm. Thanks for that whoever gave me that tip! I got to use my new table top band saw to cut the carbon. Don't try to use a blade meant for wood, carbon will eat its lunch in short order. I had ordered a high speed steel blade a while back (twice the price of regular blades!) and I'm glad I did. The wood blade cut it all crooked, put the proper blade on and it was like I was cutting through paper and it was perfectly straight. Lesson learned, don't get in a hurry and use the wrong crap. Take the time and swap blades, this was the first time swapping blades and I figured it was going to be a pita like my big floor band saw, nope. Cake walk.

Wife insisted that I finish the last room that I had to do flooring in. I got started over the weekend and should finish this week. To top it off, last Thursday I started having nosebleeds. I had then a few weeks ago on the other side of my nose. The cauterized it and it didn't come back on that side. I went Monday to a specialist and he cauterized the other side. So far it's holding up but the blood I was swallowing made me sick all week and very tired, so no shop for me. I normally stay up till midnight, I've been going to bed around 9 all week. I feel like I'm getting back to normal now so I'll be in the shop in the next few days. I'm excited too, I miss it! I love being in my shop and tinkering with stuff.
I know how you feel. I'm not as bad off as yourself however Having a heart condition being in a wheelchair makes getting proper cardio difficult in the winter here.
Glad to hear you are on the mend. I'm finally getting the building bug and February is almost half over! Anyway, you get to work and so will I.

Hey guys, boat has been on the back burner for a bit. Just busy with house stuff. I messed with it some the other night. I'm trying to get back on it.

Yes it is. I did work on it again night before last. I got the servo mount plate cut out and I had to make a trim ring on the lathe. I messed up. When I drilled the pass through hole for the steering linkage evidently I wasn't paying attention. I drilled it too close to the rudder bracket and I would have had to bend the linkage for it to line up with the rudder horn. Ugh. I ended up filling the hole with white epoxy and moving it over. Now I feel better about it but you can see a little of the boogering. The boat will be painted so I can fix it then but for now I made a little angled trim ring to hide it and it actually looks nice and flows with everything so I may just keep it on there. I'll post some pics this evening. I'm getting ready to mount the servo and other electronics so it will be down hill from there.
