And I likely would have a month ago if I felt it was an option, LOL. I had asked Keith but...

On another quality note, the supplied $70 euro motor mounts on mine sucked. So far everything else is to the norm.

BTW, I try to put my seals on the hatch too. They get torn up less and dry quicker than if installed on hull I find.

I like the idea of having the seal on the hatch. This way the boat still looks clean. I just don't know how waterproof that will make it overall. I'd still use electrical tape over it as you'll have water sitting in that groove, and it'll flow into the boat as you open the hatch (unless you got another solution for that).

Ditto. I always wipe around the hatch before opening.

Another benefit to having the seal on the hatch is that you won't have to worry about the seal pealing the paint.

It occurs to me that you can add a protrusion to the contour of the opening and then fill it with liquid neoprene. Or fill with polyurethane glue of low hardness. Or maybe it gums together. Just thoughts.
In the photo shows what I mean. Maybe it's easier with a photo than my English ... haha

The groove in between the hatch and the boat. The water will just sit in between after a run.

Sorry for no progress. The weather has been so unpredictable here. I can't paint until I know the temp will be stable. It's been swinging from 65 to 30 on an almost daily basis.

Thank you! I haven't gotten her wet yet. Since I have the holes in the sides for lights, I chose to not run until I can seal. Since the light buckets are threaded, I can't use o-rings, so I figured I'd just get the painting out of the way first. I do have everything, just waiting for time and weather to cooperate with each other.

I was about to order the remaining prop, then I realized that OSE has counter rotating detongued CNC props in 46x1.6. I guess I'll grab both.

I should also start painting later today.

Finally!!! I've been waiting for a solid two months to do this. I started with Rust-Oleum sandable primer. The entire hull and canopy took just under two 12oz cans. I followed up with a 500 grit wet sand. I'm using Dupli-Color Perfect Match for the color. The bottom is getting a good coat of "universal white" right now. This will consume both 8oz cans. Once that is done, I'll give it a 1000 grit wet sand. The side and top will be the lightest shade of blueish silver I can find. I will try to get it professionally cleared.

Good to see that the weather has turned for you.
I hate it when the weather holds up a project. It happens a lot here in the sub tropics too.
Looking forward to seeing the final livery.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

The temps are just barely there. I actually have a heater in the garage to make sure every sets properly.

Although the body lines are completely different, I may try an adaptation of the this xsmg scheme. I've been eyeing it from the start of the build.
