Guys I tested my 1515 1Y in the boat today and the results were pretty much the same as before. With a X640 prop the boat was really slow at 47mph. With a X642 I was getting top speeds of 49.8 mph and with a M445 I was getting speeds of 52.6mph (5-7 mph slower than my Hacker 7XL and a X642 prop) and after 1 min 15 seconds the temps were 122 on the motor, 97 esc and 121 on the cells. I was going to try a M645 and see how it does but it was getting late so I called it a day. I want this motor to work for me so bad I am going to leave it in for another test run tomorrow and see if I can find a prop that will load the motor just right and still not set any fires. I have found with my Larger Neu motors that when you are not running enough prop the boat seems to struggle and make everything run hotter than normal. I was aslo going to bump the timing up some but I will save that for dead last and see if it helps me any. With such a small difference in KV compared to my Hacker motor I highly doubt the KV is the issue but who knows.

Hey guys just got back from my second testing session with the Whip, 59.7 mph best speed, this was achieved with a Taipan small turn fin, m645, 1515 1y , hydra 240, PQ 4s 5000mha 1p. Temps are on the limit with motor 128 , esc 125 and packs 135 deg F. It was rock solid with the strut set at 17mm 0 deg and just a bit of angle on the fin to hold her down. Tried with the fin 0 deg and she got to loose and over she went. Put fin back to approx 1 deg and ran fast and rock solid over everything. Turns are full throttle and stable no kicking or spinning. It takes a leap of faith to turn her in sharp on the small pond at 59mph but once I got used to it no probems. I think when we hit the large lake this afternoon it will smash 60mph with this set up.
Cheers

Very nice Andy. I sent my 1515 1Y back to Steve Neu to see why it isn't up to par. I hope to get it back in my hull before the weather turns. For now my Whiplash is ripping pretty good with my Hacker 7XL motor.Team Liquid DashComment
