I don't know that boat, but it looks too tall to me. Looking at the size of the driver it looks like the seat of his pants would be above deck level, wouldn't it have been just a few inches above the tunnel floor in real life?
It certainly looks a bit too tall to me.
Here's a couple of similar boats that I've recently finished that might give a bit of an idea on the height I used.
Wat are you building on? I'm having a hard time finding a decent piece of corian or sumthin. Need to get at it really bad!
Looks good, too tall, yes.
Ray, that's a jig the boat is on but under that is a setup board that I got from Ken Haines. Extremely ridiculously sweet. I built the jig on the board because I knew it was straight. It's cut from a chunk of Corian and has a slot for a turn fin so you can drop a rigger on there to check your angles and such. Really works well. Finally got my big Whip to stay on the water again using the board.
We'll have to temp skin the deck and use the curve of the boat to mark the cut line. The canopy will require a bunch of work before I we do anything with it. It's awfully thin. Less than 20 thousands in spots. I have that part figure out though. Another job for Ty! haha He did really will with measuring sticks and epoxy. Better than I thought he would.
I'll post picks of the progress on the canopy. No work on it tonight. Scouts.
I'm sure your wife is super happy you are building in your kitchen.
haha That woman has the patience of a saint. Years ago I used to heat sheets of plastic in her oven for vacuum forming which was also done on the kitchen counter.
We could move down to the shop in the basement but there's no 70" HD to watch sports on. We have our limits.
