    8255 Build

Okay, building this one for my 15 year old so the plan is.................. to have him do as much of the work as possible. He's got plenty of laps under his belt. Time to learn him up on how they go together.

I'll try to post pics of the progress as we go along.

    First step..........gitt'n jiggy wit it.

Hows it coming? It must be tough nailing down a 15 year old to build a boat! To many girls to be chasing at that age!

It's always shocking to me when I'm out of something in my shop. I had ZERO 3/16" sticks. Ordered a bunch from Balsa USA and ply for decking.

Still debating thin skin with a layer of glass or just skip that and go for thicker ply. Leaning towards thinner is better.

Ty isn't chasing the babes yet but he does NOT stop moving......ever!

Let me know how those sticks measure up. I've been getting some strange stuff. Ordered 1/8 x 1/8 and one side was significantly thicker than the other.

I've had good luck with that company in the past. Should be here tomorrow or Thursday.

Need to catch up with Ball somehow to get me some of his handy build weights. Pretty stoked about those.

Last I talked to Ball, he was considering making a whole bunch to sell. I call them 'Ball Sacks'. They work great.

I am not sure that I can make them "affordable" enough for people to be interested in buying AND worth the money spent in materials. I will see what Terry thinks when he gets a couple in his hands!!!! I think I just made another funny! LOL

                    Later,

Maybe Mike. I looked into just buying some. They're not super cheap. Might be more work than they're worth.

Pete, bass wood showed today. Sticks are pretty straight as far as I can tell.

We got a good start today. I can't have him do everything but everything I think he can handle I'm making him do.

Smart having TY use the respirator. I don't think a lot of people are aware of the hazards of West Systems. It's pleasant smell doesn't mean it's 'OK'. I learned this from the full size boat guys a couple months ago.

Great Stuff Terry! It's cool that your getting him involved in the building, maintaining, and set up aspect.
