Don't forget to sand the stuffing tube where it'll be epoxied in and also clean it with alcohol. And to bend it properly you will need a bending kit like the K&S Tubing Bender Kit so the tube doesn't kink/distort. And if you want a perfect bend, don't do it by hand! Just place it over a kitchen pot or something so you get a smooth curve.Comment

The bend kit is a must anytime you bend a tube. It's just a set of coiled rods, you pick one the size of your stuffing tube (inner diameter) it'll keep its shape when bent. Now, the pot is just an example of what you can use to create a perfectly smooth curve. You can bend the tube by hand but it'll never be 100% smooth and will have multiple bend points to achieve the angle you want, even if one looks good enough, why not make it perfect when it's so easy! Especially in a single motor application like yours where the angle is greater than, say, in a twin where it's just a subtle bend. This reduces the flex cable friction and will wear your teflon out less, and as long as you grease/oil it after every run in between charges it should last for a while.Comment

I have found that in a twin the bends are far more complex or multiple, where as in a single it's one nice gradual bend, or should be. It is definitely easy to do without having to buy a special tubing bender. It's such a large gradual curve that it won't kink. Get a torch, heat it til it glows, cool it under water, and it'll bend nice n easy.HPR 135 redemption, HPR C5009, modded zelos 36, 32 boats and counting.

In a twin there is still just one curve and it's usually very subtle unless running larger motors which sit higher. The only time there are multiple bends is with gas/turbine motors when they can't sit at an angle so you end up with 2 bends. Also, the tube bender kit looks like this, it just keeps the tube from caving in and costs 10 bucks, nothing special about it but it's priceless. http://thumbs4.ebaystatic.com/d/l225...qM9JgAR-_w.jpg
Certainly, you can bend it by hand. However, it won't be as perfect as doing it with the coils inside and bending it on top of something that's got a round shape. In my opinion, if you can do something better, then why wouldn't you? It feels good to do quality work even if it's not always necessary for any particular purpose.Comment

You can cut the piece longer than needed and fill with fine sand as well, you need to crush both ends to keep the sand contained. Works great if you don't have the bending coils. Just make sure you keep taping the tube to let the sand settle each time you fill it, just a little a a time!Comment

Something I have done that has saved my ass, is install the stuffing tube holder. This is just 1 size larger of K&S tubing. This is what get epoxied to the hull, and the stuffing tube just slides in. I use a small section of adhesive heat shrink on the bottom just to secure it. Works great, AND your stuffing tube is removable!!Cheetah, Super Rio, (Mod) Starship (Mod and sold),Comment
