    fightercat daytona build

Hey guys, a couple days ago i thought i should start a build thread about my cf fightercat Daytona and here i am haha. So i will update my progress with some photos tomorrow, but i thought i would go ahead and tell you guys what ive done so far and my plans. I haven't done to much lately mainly i have just put in the cf inlay which i will post pictures of. My plans for the power supply is going to be a neu 1521 1860kv on a pair of revoelectrix 6s lipos to start off with and maybe try 7s down the road. Esc wise i was thinking of running a swordfish 240 or a 200 Im not quite sure yet what esc i want to run so im open for suggestions. This will be my first build so take it easy on me haha, i guess well see how it goes!!!

ive been running mine on 6s and 7s for quite a while now, no issues or signs of failure. I did run it on 8s once and the rotor wobbled, oscillated or something and contacted the stator and ripped the wrapping.....i think this was a result of a flip that happened so fast that i didnt let off the trigger and it free wheeled on 8s. Ive taken the motor apart numerous times for inspection and never had a problem until the 8s episode. so now i dont run it on 8s. would i run this setup in a heat race? definately not. Would I tool around the lake with it? I have and its been fine.

Ya i think ill stick woth 6s for the most of the time and then if im feelin confident and alittoe more experienced ill bump it up a notch. So correct me if this wouldnt work but when im putting in the motor i was aning on tacking it in with some epoxy and then do the final seal with jb weld? Ive seen acouple guys doj g it and it looks reakly nice.

You can get all the speed you care to have within reason on 6s2p by prop choice, prop will have to be fairly small for 7-8s and all the extra strain on the parts at those rpms........just prop up, Neu's like to be loaded up and prefer diameter over pitch.

Here's a speed calc I did with an x448 at 85% efficiency and 25% slip which is conservative.

From the tab up top here on OSE. Your hull would have closer to a 20% slip.

when you prop up on these narrow hulls like that, you lots of handling issues. I prefer a smaller or medium size prop and a decent amount of rpm. i'm not scared of 40 to 45k rpm in what we are doing with the boat. Ive build a few for people like this and they work reliably.

That is a great 4S motor you can prop up to a X460 and still have long run time. You will be flying around 70tie with that setup.
