It's not really as thick as you think. It's just more water resistant than the rest. And it doesn't build up heat, what does though, is improperly bent stuffing tubes (sharp angles, etc), bad teflon liner (or lack thereof) and forgetting to leave some gap between stinger and drivedog, and not running any grease at all. I also use a bit of oil in the stuffing tube which was recommended by Manuel, and so far the hull is always dry.

I do. Thought about not running it and just oiling the tube better, especially that you can use those oil/grease nozzles to simplify the task, but was recommended to use teflon by someone I trust, so...

So just a quick question but ive heard of people adjusting the ride pads on the boat? What does that do specifically?

I believe what you actually mean is "blue printing " the ride pads. The ride pads have to be true meanning that they should be free of "hook" and 'rockers", the former is concave surface and the latter is bumps. They severely affect the quality of a boat's drivability. If you have read some threads concerning the porpoise character of the Miss Geico, then you would know that the ride pads often need blue printing. To do so is to smooth out all the aforementioned imperfections with filler, and sanding blocks. The two sides of the ride pads should also mirror each other and have the exact angle when placed on straight and true table top.

The ride pads on a daytona are a different shape than the flat ride pads of, say. ..a rivercat, fantasm, miss geico.... so I don't think you need to mess with them.

Of course if will benefit from blueprinting, most hulls will, not just flat bottom ride pads. The last step of a CF Daytona hull I have here has a slight hook to it. Probably not a big deal, but if you're doing prep work before any paint anyway it doesn't take much to square and sharpen the bottom.

Ill have to look at mine, glad you chimed in, I know you've built a few of these. In looking at mine last night, I noticed the sponsons are more of a triangle shape vs flat like on the rivercat. ..I figured how it would "ride" that it wouldn't be as important. ....

That "triangle shape" you're looking at is a scale dihedral design. How important is it to blueprint? Not terribly important, but every little bit helps.

hey guys so i just got the neu motor and it is a beast!!! So i have two questions i have this motor mount http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...prod=ose-82000 and i seem to be having problems getting it on. Does anyone know the specs and if this mount will work? Also i have a plate for the transom and it seems that inside the boat the transom is kind of curved, what should the fit be like?
