Cool, a 180 what? Phoenix or Hydra HV?

Technology moves so fast you have forgotten what a Barra is . Let me jog your memory Jan. CC's Barracuda 180. Now I am embarrassed about my equipment being so old people have forgotten what I am talking about
The funny thing is people are always telling me that my boats are overpowered but I am still running my old Barra 120 and Barra 180 on these overpowered boats. The only esc I ever toasted was my very first Barra 120. That was because I had to learn these things are not really speed controllers but more like on/off switches. Because I mostly do SAW runs and let things cool after 2 or 3 runs things are cool. I know one day they will all fail but I have had a lot of fun for my $$$'s so I will not feel cheated. In fact I feel I should send CC more money for all they fun they have given me. The cheque is in the mail Joe.

Jan the 6s comment was a joke. Paddy I think those old Barra 180's are probably more robust than some of the newer units. Now the way you are talking old mate is that I have a drinking problem!! I must state that this is NOT true EXCEPT when I run out!! I am glad that your build is going so well and am realy looking forward to seeing her run.

Correct Andy. Andrewg said they are almost bulletproof and told me I did not need a Hydra 240 to get the job done.

Liquid Mad is it? You are mad about two liquids.
          1. Water for your boats.
          2. Whisky for your drinking problem.

I see nothing wrong with that.

Where are you guys getting Baracudas 180?! I thought they were extinct since the Hydras came out and lost support recently (meaning, if you send one in they'll send you a Hydra back).
Andy, O wasn't sure this time if you were kidding or not, you must have been on a binge when you wrote the lines... heheheheheheeh
just kidding, I don't think drinking is a problem...

Ahh, Paddy is one of the fortunate few to have a Barra 180 - lucky guy!

Boat looks great BTW, looking forward to more updates, and as everyone says....video! I think it needs some Maritimo decals though

              Cheers,
              Scott

Thanks Scott. I agree about the decals. I like the look of the Maritimo NS3 out on the water. I hope to get some video at the weekend. I am getting eager to put the 1D motor in but I would like to dial the boat in a bit better first.

I want to scream. I have been waiting all week to put some videos of Mr Krabs on here and the camera girl does not know the difference between Pause and Start. I ended up with about 2 second of boat video and 10 minutes of scenery, feet, hands, trees, ducks and sky. Not happy Jan. She is going to practice at home tonight so I hope for better videos tomorrow.
This is the second test trip with the boat. The first time the boat was on a 4s lipo with an Octura X438 and the boat had a top speed of 38 kph on it's maiden voyage. I could see the transom was dragging in the water. I dropped the strut and when the transom was clear of the water the speed went to 68.7 kph. I took the boat home and carefully aligned the sponsons and adjusted the angle of attack and gave the strut 1 degree of positive angle.
Today the first time out the speed was 88 kph. I put a 42mm Graupner prop on and the speed went to 96.7kph. I am happy with the improvement as in just 2 trips the speed has gone from 38kph to 96kph. I am still looking for another 60kph but the 1D motor should give me a good slice of that. There should be more speed in better props and better setup. We will see what tomorrow brings.

Well done Paddy, tomorrow should see that v947/3 blader on and 160 kph!! The only problem I can see is your camera girl will have NO hope of keeping up. Ha HA HA, Paddy seriously well done, it is not an easy build and you have tackled it outside of the square, very impressed. BTW old mate changed turn fin, strut depth and went to a m447 on the Lash, 61.2 mph not ever going 100 though.

Here ya go Ray. Not much to see though

Ray I have edited to apologize. I was thinking you could not find my video but you are asking Andy where is his video. Just another senior moment for me, I am afraid Ray.

Ray I was by myself and trying to hold a video and drive at 100kph it would turn out like Paddy's. Next weekend we are having a race day at a very large lake 1 hour from here and will get vid no problems, I think there is still more speed in her. Thanks for the B/Day thought.
