You are correct and I am happy with the way things are going. It is better this happened at 106 kph than at 160 kph. We learn from these things.Several boats in various stages of destructionComment

Do not tell Andy but I was born on the mainland Jan. Tasmania is home now though. I have been here since I was one year old and that was not yesterday.

Paddy that is going to be a problem at 160kph, I think there are stronger ways of securing sponsonsons. I will give you a ring soon to discuss it. 106 kph with that prop is great I think you will easily hit your mark with the correct set up. Well done Paddy!!Comment

I have to sleep now so I can work tonight but the second video is uploading to You Tube and I will add it when I wake up.
Here is the first video and you will notice a big difference in speed when you see the last run on the next video

Ok Jan, Ray and Andy I have not been to bed and the video is complete. I guess three hours sleep will get me through the night.
Watch the first part of the last run as it is coming towards you to get some idea of how a warm battery improves the speed.

Paddy, what motor are you using with what prop...
regardless if it's the 1D or the 1.5D it does not sound like
it's unwinding... unless you are using less then 4s.
Just a thought.:::::::::::::::. It's NEVER fast enough! .:::::::::::::::Comment

One of the reasons I am happy with the speed is that on 8s it has never been faster than 107 kph in my Dumas Hawk and now it is doing 106 kph in Mr Krabs on 4s. This morning the air temperature was just above 0 degrees here and that battery was stone cold at first. The lipo I was running is also a tired old FlightPower and I have a new PolyQuest waiting for the 1D motor when that goes in.
There is a third video that has a few fast runs on it but it has about 10 minutes of me getting the rubber duck and retrieving the boat on it. I know you want FAST VIDEOS but they will come.

Cool... it was just a thought anyway...
I'd like to see the video you have with faster runs, I enjoy seeing part of the process.
If you upload it it on a place I can download the raw version (no compression), I can edit the rubber duck out of the equation... or at least most of it... we need to know the savior of the Krab as well,

After speaking with Paddy tonight and finding out some set up stats like srut depth, rudder trail etc I think this, as is seen in the vids will easily do 125kph or so. I think with the 1d and some careful set up a x447/3 will be very close to 160 kph and the v series 947/3 will be MAD! We have to remember that cold old 20c cells got to 106 kph, a fresh 30c warmed up with 1d will rock Tassy like never before. Paddy will be the fastest person on water in Tasmania RC or not very soon. I do not know what the 4s SAW record is for Australia but if Paddy keeps going the way he is it might just go.Comment
