Beautiful !
I have been too busy to go to the lake, wanted to dial the Intruder in, but I hear from Properchopper that the weeds are kind of out of control.
Your beautiful R-42 will look spectacular with this back ground. Photos please when you run there.
Ok, summer fun is over and this is traditionally build time for me, so I am putting efforts forward to getting this build back together and then complete.
So this is my latest mounting
I will start with long struts and a long extension rudder. Then I'll try a short extension on the rudder and see how it changes handling, then short struts and so on. All this on the same hull, kinda experimental.
So the long struts are on, flexes cut to fit, stuffing tubes in with all the goodies(like oilers), and motors mounted. Note the sparkle shiny finish on all parts
Those the long speedmaster struts? I picked up a set for my nomad few months back, nicely made. The amount of adjustment you have is pretty unreal with struts on a twin cat. Looks great as usual.

Thanks Mike, yes Speedmaster throughout.
I need to pick my next goal on this. Should be cap on ESC's but the radio gear layout intrigues me .
So the radio gear is all strategically placed in a foam block which lives under this cover
I changed up the whole CF cover plate with some birds eye birch. I figure it goes well with Andy's awesome glass/stringer work AND the paint scheme. Another piece shall take up the center tunnel area covering the batteries partially. Just waiting for a couple key pieces for mounting it and would like to get the middle packs somewhat located after a run or two first.
The veneers are laid up with FG cloth and Kevlar to get them rigid.
Great choice with the birds eye maple, it just looks right. I have a softness for burls of all kinds and plan on using them on my whiplash whenever it decides to build itself. I look forward to seeing how the rest turns out. Great job man!

I think I am ready for water on this one Jeff. Wahoo
Re-read the thread from page 1, I forgot about how much work went into the hatch and how clean that came out, the paint makes it look amazing.
I gotta say this is one of the coolest builds I've seen, the amount of work + unique factor while ending with a factory finish is totally different from what people usually end up with. Lot of envisioning going on in a project like this. I want to custom build a hatch now lol.
Great job bro, this weekend you think you'll get to the lake?
I think I will, I just set my shaft rotations(always get those backwards) and flexes are lubed. I have to go do a job on one of the small islands here but should be back Friday. She is ready to go!
