    i know the 2100kv motor was recommended but there is no stock in the u s will the 2200kv work as good and still run as fast thanks

      ok got the 2200kv motor in today hope it will work ok, need a good motor mount for it any help would be great. and will the change in motor size mean a different prop

          ok got most of my hardware in. is there a video are instructions some where on how to install the stinger, that shows how it goes together

            Thanks for your informative build process updates, I'm just starting to get into boats and will be building one in the next few months, I'm in the research stage. I picked up a 27" fiberglass hull of unknown origin. I also plan on using a stinger.

              A 3974 motor (from what I can tell from the picture), will have a lot more power than the 3665 motor recommended on the first page.
              With the higher KV rating, which isn't that much higher IMO, you'll end up with slightly higher RPMs.
              The net result should be the ability to run a larger prop than the previous motor :D But you could still start out with the recommended prop and grab another when that's not quite fast enough, there really isn't that great a difference in RPMs.

              Someone with more experience can probably chime in with a more detailed explanation.

                Oh, and how is the boat coming along? Did you ever finish it?

                An x440 or so would be a good starting prop and work up from there. Get a few plastic ones starting around 38mm and working up to 45mm and see what works best. Then buy a metal one in that size.

                  sorry for the late reply but have been busy. this boat is going to paint very soon, have one other in there at the moment will post pic as it should be back this week, ending up with a alot of hulls over the summer . so been jumping around on builds, also had to build a deck with wheel chair ramp, so been tied up alot. oh yah work shop and trailer also being worked on. lol to many irons in fire.

                          when i get it out i will give all the info and how to contact him, with better photos this thing is great in real life. should get it out in the pm tomorrow , this is why i have not got this build done yet. been waiting on this to get out so i can but the mono in to paint

                            ok here she is American Pride . this started out a birthday present and a bare surge crusher my wife got me. the other boat in this build has been on hold till this one came back from paint. now this boat will be going in soon. this boat was painted and airbrushed by Dan Ott of auto body concepts in Ardmore Oklahoma 225 N Rockford Road 76401. the man has mad skills and does custom paint.
