Although the outside drives are 300mm apart, each one is only 150mm from the centre dive. Who knows what effect that will have with the steering or the loading of the inside motor. Plus there will be two rudders.
We'll see what happens in the testing & adjust things from there.

I'm glad you like it. I can't wait to see either. It will either work or it won't. But it will be fun getting there.


Yesterday I got he hulls joined with a 50mm wide glass tape around the inside & a lightweight strip of cloth on the deck. I'll fair that in with some auto blade putty later.
An extra layer of tape was added to the bottom join. Tonight I'll add a strip on the outside of the bottom join.
Made up & epoxied in some plates for the stingers to bolt onto.
Now it's time to make & fit the motor mounts along with the stuffing tubes.

This is going to be a very unique piece, deffinetly cool looking and should run pretty good with triple power. the only issue I can see is maybe turning but who knows it may turn better than a regular cat, we shall see.

That Pic of the bottom, looks like batmans profile....so good name for it and color scheme .... put Kaapow, boom, wham down the side. I really like how it looks... DJ

Nice idea on the graphics DJ. I'll take that under advisement. The only other name I can think of is FAT CAT(inspired by a post from Bill over on R/C Groups).

I'm waiting on the struts, rudders, & shafts before I can do much more. But I have fashioned some motor mounts & glassed them in. Done a bit of filling & sanding along the joins. And cut the hatches to fit. I still have to join them yet.

But now I need some help, guidance, information, knowledge, wisdom, intuition, call it what you will.

The hardware has arrived & the props end up just past the overhang. There will be two rudders mounted between the props in the normal location.
Should the rudders be in line with the props or extended further back like you see on so many twin setups?

Also, any ideas on prop rotation. At the moment I've set it up with the two outside props rotating inward at the tops & the centre prop rotating the same as the starboard prop, anticlockwise.

Any thoughts will be gratefully accepted.

Rudders closer to transom will help to turn sharper. I try to have mine inline with the props. At least the ones I want to turn.

As far as rotation goes, the outsides inward at the top is what I would do too. I really don't think it matters which way you spin the center motor unless you're mostly going to run oval with it then I'd spin it counter clockwise like you have it

Thanks for the info guys.
Some people have said in line with the props & others (another forum) have said behind the props. So I've made them with the leading edge about 1" behind the trailing edge of the props with the intention of shortening the brackets & moving them forward should it be considered that any turning issues require them further forward.

It certainly will be running oval, but also a larger triangle 'Offshore' track too. So yeah, I figured two props turning anticlockwise would help with the cornering.
